Fun trivia and bizarre holidays:
September 19th is Talk Like a Pirate Day!
Visit our blog beginning Monday,
September 16 for pirate themed trivia and
activities.
September 22nd is Hobbit Day! Take a trip
to Middle Earth and catch up on the
Tolkien Classics!
October 17th is the Sweetest Day. Check
out our collection of cookbooks and make
a sweet treat for that special someone.
November is Native American Heritage
Month. Watch for a display of Native
American books and materials! Join us for
a special Wee Read November 14th!
November is also NaNoWriMo or NationalNovel Writers Month!
Do you have a story to tell? Join us for
Lansdowne Storytellers! Mondays in
November beginning at 4P.
Starting November 1stjoin us for the first
ever MEGA story! Help write an ongoing
novel that will be featured throughout the
Family Room and the Teen Room and up-
dated on our blog!

Special events at Hoffman Park!Join us as we team up with the Lansdowne Park and
Recreation Department to for two days of fun and
games!
Park Day
Saturday, September 21 from 1-4 PM
Come check out the new Gateway Park Trail! Ride a
decorated bike to Park Day for a chance to win a spe-
cial prize!
There will be a book swap, moonbounce, face painting,games for all ages and prizes.
Refreshments will be available for purchase.
Harvest Festival
Saturday, October 26th from 5-8 PM
Help us welcome fall during this event!
Enjoy the park as we welcome Fall!
Pumpkin painting, scarecrow making, music circles and
storytelling.
All ages welcome but children MUST beaccompanied by parent or adult guardian.
Book Bunch
Begins Thursdays October 3rdat 4PM
Do you like books, crafting and
making friends?
Join us for our book club!
Each week we read a book, have a small
discussion and then craft based on the
book.
Piggy Bank Tales
Piggy Bank Tales is a special 4-week pro-
gram that teaches little ones the basics of
Earning, Saving, Sharing, and Spending through fun,
interactive stories, crafts, and activities. This program
is geared for children ages 3 to 5 years old and an adult.
