Late Shri. S. B. Patil in the year 1990 with a vision to provide value

added educational platform to society in multiple dimensions.

Pimpri Chinchwad College Of Engineering (PCCOE) is one of the

best Engineering Colleges in Maharashtra. It offers under graduate

courses in engineering in the branches of Civil, Computer,

Electronics and Telecommunications, Information Technology

and Mechanical, with intake of 780 students. It also offers post

graduate courses in Computer Engineering, Electronics &

Telecommunications (VLSI), Information Technology and

Mechanical (Design and Heat Power), Civil Engineering

(Construction Management). PCCOE also have Ph. D. Research

center in Computer, EnTc and Mechanical Engineering.

PCCOE intends to attain eminence by development and nurturing

of skills and providing technical education of standard quality. The

institute campus has well developed laboratories, library, class

rooms, hostel, canteen and play ground with all amenities.

PCCOE has received accreditation from National Board of

Accreditation (NBA), NAAC (A Grade) and is ISO certified

institute by TUV NORD. Also, PCCOE has received permanent

affiliation from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU),

Pune.

The Civil Engineering Department was established in year 2012.

The department is enriched with 10 state of the art laboratories

with sophisticated instruments. Industries offer sponsorship to

projects for undergraduate students. Students from the

department have excelled in Academics, Research, Sport, Art and

Social Work. The Civil Engineering Department has also Started

with PG in Construction Management from this Academic Year

2019 - 20 with intake (18).

Audit course for Environmental Studies I and II(As per

D.O.No.F.13-1/2000 (EA/ENV/COS-I)dated 14 May, 2019) is

mandatory but non-credit course.Examination has to be conducted

at the end of Sem. I & II respectively for award of grade at college

level.

Course Objectives as per SPPU :

1. To explain the concepts and strategies related to sustainable

development and various components of environment.

2. To examine biotic and abiotic factors within an ecosystem,

to identify food chains, webs, as well as energy flow and

relationships.

3. To identify and analyze various conservation methods and

their effectiveness in relation to renewable and nonrenewable

natural resources.

4. To gain an understanding of the value of biodiversity and

current efforts to conserve biodiversity on national and local

scale.
