2010 Chicago Sky Notes

House Warming The Sky will open up their new house tonight when the Fever come to town. Prior to the game there will be a house warming party for the fans hosted by the Sky in the Allstate Arena park-ing lot. It’s been months in the making, but tonight the Sky will play their first regular season game in Allstate Arena.

Prince of Thief Through two games Sky rookie guard Epiphanny Prince has seven steals. Though its still early she leads the WNBA in total steals and is second in Steals Per Game at 3.5.

Rough StartThe Sky got off to a rough start with back-to-back losses at Connecticut Sun in each team’s sea-son opener. The lone bright spot for the Sky was Sylvia Fowles’ 16 points and nine rebounds.

New Faces in 2010The Sky will open the 2010 season with five new players on their roster. Two rookies made the squad, in first and third round draft picks Epiphanny Prince and Abi Olajuwon. Newly acquired Shameka Christon and Cathrine Kraayeveld will add a veteran presence in the front court, and Sandora Irvin joins the Sky after an impressive pre-season camp.

Sky in ShapeDespite possibly the deepest roster the Sky have ever had, staying healthy will remain a prior-ity throughout the 2010 season. Sky center Sylvia Fowles, who missed 10 games due to injury in 2009, heads into 2010 with a clean bill of health. Both Dominique Canty and Jia Perkins played every game in 2009 and they’ll look to repeat that performance in 2010.
