CES President’s Message Hi! I am Beth Young and I will serve as the CES President for 2019. I have been a member of CES for 10 years and have held the positions of Southwest Director, Administrative Liaison and Vice President. I look forward to serving as President this year and am anxious to see what the year holds for CES. Our first Board Meeting will be held on March 13, 2019 in the Gehres Room (214) at the 4-H Center. An agenda and zoom meeting link will be emailed to all members prior to the 13 th . If you can not join us in Columbus, please join us via Zoom. Jennifer Lindimore, Office Associate, Morgan County was awarded the 2018 Extension Support Staff Excellence Award. Jennifer is someone who is an outstanding employee of Ohio State University Extension and has been the welcoming face of her county extension office for 30 years. She embodies the qualities of excellence, cooperation, positive attitude, service, professional development and creative problem solving which is the perfect description of an exceptional candidate for the CES Support Staff Excellence Award.

She often leads her office personnel and clientele to a better understanding of changes within the organization. She is an excellent teacher and trainer of all things Extension. She maintains a current and complete database of local, regional and Extension resources, which serves as a great aid for her coworkers and many clientele. She is the glue that holds the office together.

She has served as a longtime member of Chi Epsilon Sigma and served in many leadership roles. She has participated and actively seeks out opportunities to expand her knowledge throughout her career and graciously shares her knowledge with others. People know her for her excellent work ethic and as a team player who has great loyalty to Extension and the University. She works tirelessly with all she serves (the general public, her co-workers in Morgan County and peers within OSU Extension). She is positive, hardworking and extremely helpful to all those with whom she interacts. Her professionalism defines “support” staff as she continually works to sustain and improve the program with her help, encouragement, fiscal care and attention to detail.

Jennifer is an example of positive attitude, commitment to OSU Extension, and a commitment to serving the citizens of Morgan County.

TERSSA UPDATEJoin TERSSA – The Extension and Research Support Staff Association

The National Association Extension Support Staff Professionals!

It’s not too late to join TERSSA (if you haven’t already done so). Membership is only $10.00 due by May 31st. To download a membership form go to https://terssa2017.wixsite.com/terssa/membership-information

The 2019 TERSSA Conference will be held in Mississippi and hosted by Mississippi State University – date and location to be announced. The TERSSA Conference is usually held in the fall each year.Note: TERSSA dues will increase next year to $15.00 (first increase in ten years).

Please check out the NEW TERSSA Facebook page! - search @TERSSA2 to easily find the page. Be sure to send some love by “liking” the page and share with friends and peers! Also, post what is happening in your Extension department/county, Ohio professional development offerings, share pictures, and fun news. Check back often for participating states’ pictures, updates and information.

The TERSSA website page is currently: terssa2017.wixsite.com/terssa. The TERSSA Executive Board presented the need for a more detailed, functional, webpage and the TERSSA Executive Board will be working on this proposal in 2019. Stay tuned for more information.
