DESCRIPTIONChest Imaging is an intensive three-day course presented by a nationally renowned faculty and members of the thoracic radiology divisions of the Harvard-affi liated teaching hospitals. It is intended to provide a comprehensive state-of-the-art review of thoracic imaging including computed radiography, MDCT, MRI, FDG-PET and thoracic interventional procedures. Recent advances in cardiac imaging with MDCT and MRI will also be discussed.
OBJECTIVESCourse participants will
• Become familiar with MDCT imaging of coronary artery disease, pulmonary embolism, and aortic abnormalities
• Understand the role of imaging in lung cancer detection, diagnosis and management
• Learn specifi c indications for HRCT and recognize patterns of diffuse lung disease
• Review the manifestations of pulmonary infection
• Review diseases in the pleura and mediastinum
• Become familiar with the radiographic manifestations of trauma and acute illness in the ICU
• Comprehend the indications, technique, and complications of thoracic interventions including needle biopsy of the lung and radiofrequency ablation of thoracic tumors
There will be a daily, early morning case quiz in which all registrants may participate. Selected cases will be relevant to the day’s lectures and will be reviewed at the end of the day. A prize will be awarded daily to the registrant with the most correct answers.
