Obedience Club of Daytona, Inc.Volume 39 / Issue 1 www.ocodb.org January 2020
NEXT MEETING 7:00 PMMonday, January13. 2020
“ Linda Hudak will discuss the upcoming Jan. 17, 18, 19, 2020 Agility Trial”
President’s Message,
Dear members,
Welcome to 2020! I’m truly honored to serve as your new Club President this year and I look forward to working with such a well versed and knowledgeable Board. As we continue to grow there will be challenges but I’m confident that OCOD can and will meet these challenges with creativity and determination.
As we move forward into a new year, I encourage each of you to take a moment to look back at how far you have come, celebrate those accomplishments big and small, and set goals for what you hope to achieve this year. The same goes for our club, it was a great year for OCOD! Many students graduated our classes, we gained new members, held a wide variety of events, and we successfully rented out our facility to other clubs for their events. We celebrate these many accomplishments, but this would not have been possible without our volunteers donating their time. So please, if you haven’t volunteered, make that one of your new year’s resolutions...It’s fun and your Club needs your help!
May all your goals and dreams come true, and may health and happiness find you where ever 2020 takes you.
Best Wishes and Happy Training,
Linda Hudak

Mark the Date: January 17, 18, 19, 2020The Great OCOD Annual Agility Trial!
We have wonderful judges, excellent participants, and an enthusiastic committee putting together another successful trial. ALL WE NEED NOW IS YOU!!
Many club members have already signed up for interesting jobs like Course Builder, Timer, Scribe, Gate Steward, and Leash and Score Sheet runners. But with several different classes daily, there’s still plenty of opportunity for you to fill these jobs—plus act as Ring Crew on Friday. (On Saturday and Sunday we’ll have help from local students). Alan Israelson will be overseeing a table of delicious goodies for you.
You don’t need to know anything about agility to help, and you can be taught any of the jobs in just a few minutes. Plus volunteering gives you a ring-side view of the goings-on.
Please contact Michaele Calderone 330-501-7827 or ([email protected]). In addition, we’ll need people to help set up the rings on Thursday, January 17 at 10 a.m. and to help put things away after the trial is finished on Sunday.
Everyone who volunteers will be rewarded: For every class you work, you’ll receive a $2 coupon good for food at our food vendor or entry in a future OCOD agility trial, plus a ticket for the worker’s raffle—in which you can win valuable gift cards.
As always, the trial will be held at Silver Sands Equestrian Club, 625 Co Rd 415 (Tomoka Farms Rd), New Smyrna Beach FL 32168.
So, whether you come to play or to watch, do come to pitch in and help. Sign up for one class or several. We’re counting on you!

Ormond Parade Teams It was a wonderful night with perfect weather for the Holiday nighttime parade. Huge crowds of families came
out to celebrate and were so excited to watch our OCOD teams perform for them. Diane Toth with her big fluffy Shepherd Krohm dressed up with lights was wing off for the crowd. Nancy Harrington with Baxter & Belle her Weimaraners in gorgeous lighted, big flower collars struting merrily. Teresa Marshall with her
tenacious, little dogs Nugget & Blossom all dressed up as Santa & Mrs. Claus bouncing along. Shannon Teper and her graceful, Catahoula Leopard dog, Jambalaya amusing children with her spakling lights, and
myself, Linda Campagna with my smiling, Border Collie Tucci happily dancing along and doing tricks. Thank you Greg for all that you do getting prepared for the parade. Picking up decorations and decorating the chase car every year. Coming early to save our spot for the walkers and the car, taking our pictures Watching over
us in case we need assistance during the paradeHelping us back to the beginning if we need a ride. Volunteering to help with the Parade so we can represent OCOD in the community Thanks to all of you for
coming out to show your love for your dogs while representing our club. Linda :-)
