Research Experience

Research InterestsI am broadly interested in the psychosocial factors that influence cardiovascular health, with an emphasis on identifying factors that moderate the risk for cardiovascular disease. Specifically, I am interested in how stress and other negative emotional experiences, such as anger, and their physiological correlates can be moderated by negative factors (e.g., anger rumination) and positive factors (e.g., social support, relaxation practices). I have also recently gained an interest in the study of factors related to student success and academic achievement, particularly among nontraditional college students.
