Australia - New South Wales
• The main area is Hunter Valley - 160 km north of Sydney
• The Lower Hunter Valley, phylloxera and rain at vintage are two major hazards
• Dominant grapes are Semillon for whites and Shiraz for reds
• In the Upper Hunter Valley, Chardonnay is successful, the climate is drier and drip-irrigation is needed.

• Cool south east corner of Australia
• Winemaking dates back to 1830`s
• Diversity of cool climate terroir
• Slow ripening with ideal fruit flavour development

Australia - Tasmania• One of the earliest
successful winemaking areas in Australia (1821). Award winning in France in 1850’s.
• Nowadays, only a tiny fraction of Australian production.
• Cool climate, well suited to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling.
• Increasing contracted volume to supply PN and Chardonnay for mainland sparkling wine makers.

• Swan ValleyAlluvial soil, warm Mediterranean climate. High alcohol content wines.
• Margaret RiverCool climate. Concentrated flavours. Known for elegant, redcurrant Cabernet Sauvignons often blended with Merlot

Western Australia - Margaret River
• Coastal wine growing region in the lower south west of western Australia.
• Maritime climate where cooling sea breezes allow the long, slow ripening period , essential for the production of the premium wine.
• Soils are decomposed granite over clay, which produce naturally concentrated and intense fruit flavours in the grapes.
• Margaret River grows 2% of Australia`s wine but account for 20% of Australia`s premium wine.
