IntroductionIntroduction

The substitution of the bearing or the tub of the Electrolux washing machines with Carboran tub is very workintensive.This presentation will show the way how to do it. A service engineer can do that work within 2 or 3 hours.

First StepsFirst Steps

Order of all necessary spare parts:- Back tub half with bearing- if necessary bearing cross- Damper nails

Disassemble ApplianceDisassemble Appliance

Disassemble top cover, back panel, cross brace and panel

Disassemble front panel, door lock, plinth, bellows

Disassemble all hose connections at the tub, drive belt anddrawer.

Attention: Air trap is fixed by a screw on thetub.

Disassemble pulley!!!!!!The screw of the pulley is protected by Locktight. Before opening the screw, you have to hit 2 or 3 times with a hammer on it. Then you can open the screw with help of an lever. Open it fitfully.

Disassemble heating element, earth connection und motor.

Attention: Take care that the motor (4 screws) will not dropp on the floating switch when you remove it from the tub.

Disassemble tub (12 or 14 screws)

Open the tub screws and remove the front tub half.Important!!! The heating element must be removed!!!

Removement of the drum and drum cross

Take a rubber mallet and hit some times on the drum axis. Thenremove the drum from the back tub half.

If the drum cannot be removed(e.g. deposit corrossion), then youhave to disassemble the drum cross.See next page.

When it is not possible to move the drum out of the tub, thenyou can disassemble the drum cross screws through thehose connection hole of the tub.After that you can remove the drum.

1. Push with the hammer on the screws (Locktight)2. Remove screws3. Disassemble the drum cross

Disassemble DampersDisassemble Dampers

- Press damper nails out of the dampers. Then take off the backtub half

Assemble ApplianceAssemble Appliance

After the repair or change of the defective parts you should assemble the appliance again.. Please pay special attention that the earth wire will not be crimped like in the photo.

Important: Take care that all electrical and water connections are done correctly.

Important!!! The screws of the drum cross and pulley must be fixed with Locktight.
