CONSUMER INSIGHT* The attractiveness of 11 proposed user benefits

* Research done by Holden Pearmain in October 2009. A total of 1,800 people were interviewed, 300 in each country (Germany, France, Spain, Denmark, the Netherlands and the Czech Republic). The results are based on the median (similar to average) perception.

CONSUMER INSIGHT The ideal cycle duration in the eyes of the consumer

So quick I would doubt the effectiveness of the wash

Ideal wash cycle Long, but just about acceptable

Average load 29 min 59 min 89 min

Full, dirty load 41 min 75 min 113 min

Small, slightly soiled load

20 min 43 min 60 min

The consumer‟s perception of the ideal cycle duration is very far from what he will get in practice.

NEW LOGICONTROL USER INTERFACES With just one step of Time Save – giving the consumers the washing times they want

By comparing the first time reduction, “Daily” (shortened washing phase, full rinsing), we see how closely we match what consumers would be satisfied

And our washing machines are a lot closer to this ideal than just about any washing machine you will find

We have more than 50 years of expertise in manufacturing front loaded washing machines

LONG, BUT JUST ABOUT

ACCEPTABLE

OPTISENSE, 40 °C

“DAILY”

Average load 89 min 94 min/4 kg

Full, dirty load 113 min 115 min/7 kg

Small, slightly soiled load

60 min 60 min/2 kg

AND WITH “EXTRA QUICK” (PRESS TIME SAVE TWICE):

A small, slightly soiled load will take only 45 min, just 2 min more than the “Ideal wash cycle”

WASHING EFFICIENCY

A

The Optisense washing system – adjust duration and washing efficiency whatever the load size or type

The cycle time, as well as the water and energy consumption, is automatically adjusted to precisely treat each load differently; small loads are not „overwashed‟.

In fact, any size of load is washed to a perfect A-class, no more, no less. ProTex means outstanding clothes care that will keep your wardrobe looking like new for longer.

PROTEX USP Advanced Washing Technology

ADVANCED WASHING TECHNOLOGY (AWT)

A unique shower system that quickly wets the clothes and prevents bleach stains that could occur from over-concentration of detergent at the start of the washing. The continuous shower guarantees that the water is sprayed right into the heart of the wash, so that even a full load is washed and rinsed evenly and efficiently.

SECONDARY BENEFITS Front loaders

WEIGHT SENSOR

Our weight sensor gives a very good and highly accurate indication of the cycle duration, even while you are loading the machine. Washing machines with time proportionality will otherwise need up to 15 min. to estimate the load and calculate the corresponding duration, meanwhile showing maximum duration.

40% better energy efficiency than limit of A-class

Superior results owing to the use of the AWT shower, inverter motor and high precision flow meter.

SPECIAL STEAM PROGRAMMES

There are two Steam programmes, Anti-crease to minimize ironing and Refresh. As a further refinement, in the 9-series the amount of steam may be adjusted in three steps according to the load.

SILENT SYSTEM PLUS

Has now been taken to a completely new level through the introduction of a totally new, XXL washing group and the use of three new, advanced shock absorbers. There are also many other refinements to help us reach the record low 47 dB(A).

LOGICONTROL USER INTERFACE

This intuitive concept is literally self-explanatory. An empty bar graph shows that the option is available. A bar graph that is not (yet) full encour-ages the user to explore the remain- ing possibilities. Up to 5 extra rinses. 9-series with text line and 24 h clock.

PROTEX DRUM

The key to the ProTex concept in our dryers lies in our new XXL soft pattern drum in combination with the efficient air flow circuit, drum reversing and three rather than the more common two lifters. The volume, at 118 litres, combined with the lift of the more efficient air flow, means that a given load will be able to stretch out that much more, reducing creasing and also giving a more uniform drying result.

SECONDARY BENEFITS Tumble dryers

EXCELLENT LOAD PROPORTIONALITY

The drying time and energy consumption are almost proportional to the load, so drying a small load means an almost corresponding saving.

LOGICONTROL USER INTERFACE

9-series with 24 h clock and text line. Bar graphs show the options and settings available and lead the user to explore the possibilities. Spin speed adjustment to give correct drying time indication (all HP).

LARGE DRUM OPENING WITH ROUND GLASS DOOR

Extremely easy loading and unloading. The ability to see the laundry during the drying is generally much appreciated.
