OBJECTIVE
Provide a high level overview of how a Change moves from a Request to being Released into Production.
WHAT IS A CHANGE?
The addition, modification or removal of anything that could have an effect on IT services.
WHAT IS RELEASE MANAGEMENT?
The planning, scheduling and validating the movement of changes through the different environments.
Development > Test > Production
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?• Safeguards the Production environment and
services running on it• Minimizes risk• Improves communication and collaboration
when implementing changes• Provides consistency when making changes
