Networking and Getting Connected Annual Dinner

The Annual Dinner, a celebration of Member and Chamber accomplishments, is an opportunity for

Chamber Members and the community to come together to enjoy an evening of networking, fun,

food and entertainment. The evening includes a silent and live auction, entertainment and a brief

awards presentation recognizing both an emerging small business and the distinguished John G.

Eberenz award honoring lifetime achievement.

Business After Hours

Business After Hours events are effective networking events hosted by different Member businesses

each month. With their interactive and friendly atmosphere, many Members find these events are

great for meeting new people, making new connections, and possibly new clients, customers,

members, etc. The average attendance for an event ranges from 40-70 people giving you an

opportunity to network with a significant sampling of diverse business people from throughout the

region.

Business After Hours events are open to both Members and the public; admission is as follows:

• Members - $5.00

• Not-Yet Members - $8.00

If you are interested in hosting an event or to request a contract, contact Molly M. Mulligan,

Manager of Events, for openings and more information!

Golf Tournament

Whether playing golf with employees, clients, colleagues or friends, the Annual Golf Tournament is an

opportunity to build and strengthen business relationships within our community. The event includes

18 holes of golf in a Captain and Crew format, lunch, a buffet dinner and plenty of awards and

prizes; not to mention fun and networking. This tournament is an effective way for sponsors to reach a

captive audience, often comprised of community leaders, stakeholders and business owners, while

supporting the Chamber’s mission and objectives.

Area Tours Program

Providing businesses and organizations with valuable

recruitment resources saving time and energy.

Description:

The Area Tours Program is designed to provide businesses with the opportunity to show potential

candidates the Corning and surrounding areas through a customized tour with an Area Tour

Specialist.

How can the Area Tours Program benefit you?

Statistics show that by implementing an Area Tours Program that respects a relocating employee’s

work-life balance during a move, you create happier employees, improve retention, and ensure a

transition that mutually benefits both the employee and the employer. The Area Tours Program is

designed to make your recruitment process easier, allowing the candidate to feel more at ease

during the relocation process.

When relocating, an employee’s social network is uprooted. Their families, friends and community

organizations are left behind. They must adjust to a new community and frankly this is one of the most

difficult aspects of relocation and one of the top reasons for unhappiness following their move.

When a company implements and nurtures social communities, ultimately they help their employees

settle into their jobs and reach productive levels quicker, which makes the Area Tours Program a vital

part of the recruiting process.

Program Process:

An Area Tours Specialist is an experienced, highly trained and professional tour guide.

• They will personally connect with your candidate prior to their interview, insuring that they

professionally customize the tour to meet exactly what your candidates needs and desires are.

The Area Tours program has been designed for individuals as well as families.

• A menu is then sent to your candidate giving them a variety of options to choose from. Some of

the options include: Culture, Entertainment, Education, Childcare, Recreation, Residential,

Shopping and Special Needs. Candidates can also select special areas of interest, focusing on

Corning or other regional points of interest.

• Once the menu is returned, the customized tour is planned and scheduled. Tours have included

but not limited to stops at CMOG, Rockwell, Schools, Daycare Facilities, Colleges, and Fitness

Facilities. Many candidates choose to familiarize themselves with the housing markets and

communities thorough visiting a vast selection of different residential options. The Information

Center of Corning partners with an area rental car agency to ensure a clean, reliable and

comfortable tour. Candidates are picked up and dropped off at the desired location, such as

an airport, hotel or office.

• Once the tour is complete, the candidate will receive a survey via email. This provides an

opportunity for feedback from the candidate and ensure top notch Area Tours Specialists.

Pricing starts at $250 - a general tour is 2-3 hours and is dependent on the tour option desired.
