Area Tours Program
Providing businesses and organizations with valuable
recruitment resources saving time and energy.
Description:
The Area Tours Program is designed to provide businesses with the opportunity to show potential
candidates the Corning and surrounding areas through a customized tour with an Area Tour
Specialist.
How can the Area Tours Program benefit you?
Statistics show that by implementing an Area Tours Program that respects a relocating employee’s
work-life balance during a move, you create happier employees, improve retention, and ensure a
transition that mutually benefits both the employee and the employer. The Area Tours Program is
designed to make your recruitment process easier, allowing the candidate to feel more at ease
during the relocation process.
When relocating, an employee’s social network is uprooted. Their families, friends and community
organizations are left behind. They must adjust to a new community and frankly this is one of the most
difficult aspects of relocation and one of the top reasons for unhappiness following their move.
When a company implements and nurtures social communities, ultimately they help their employees
settle into their jobs and reach productive levels quicker, which makes the Area Tours Program a vital
part of the recruiting process.
Program Process:
An Area Tours Specialist is an experienced, highly trained and professional tour guide.
• They will personally connect with your candidate prior to their interview, insuring that they
professionally customize the tour to meet exactly what your candidates needs and desires are.
The Area Tours program has been designed for individuals as well as families.
• A menu is then sent to your candidate giving them a variety of options to choose from. Some of
the options include: Culture, Entertainment, Education, Childcare, Recreation, Residential,
Shopping and Special Needs. Candidates can also select special areas of interest, focusing on
Corning or other regional points of interest.
• Once the menu is returned, the customized tour is planned and scheduled. Tours have included
but not limited to stops at CMOG, Rockwell, Schools, Daycare Facilities, Colleges, and Fitness
Facilities. Many candidates choose to familiarize themselves with the housing markets and

communities thorough visiting a vast selection of different residential options. The Information
Center of Corning partners with an area rental car agency to ensure a clean, reliable and
comfortable tour. Candidates are picked up and dropped off at the desired location, such as
an airport, hotel or office.
• Once the tour is complete, the candidate will receive a survey via email. This provides an
opportunity for feedback from the candidate and ensure top notch Area Tours Specialists.
Pricing starts at $250 - a general tour is 2-3 hours and is dependent on the tour option desired.
