The word 'professional' is often used to describe someone withthe attitude, team skills, strong morals, and work ethic to operatewithin various situations and industries.

Displaying professional skills in today's industries is just asimportant to success as exceptional technical and artistic ability.Every year employers tell us that traditional education consistently

fails to develop employees and citizens with core skills requiredfor long lasting success. Basically, if you graduate as the bestat what you do in your field but you have difficulty speaking to astranger, then there is a very good chance you're not going tosucceed in your desired industry.

So how do we help you? While attending Centre schools, allstudents will experience the Professional Development Program. Those who grasp the power of the program will be well-equippedto experience success in work and life and to be the kind ofperson that others want to know and work with. The ProfessionalDevelopment Program will enhance the employability and long-term career success of Centre students.

    But wt...T's m...

In addition to the years of experience, the amazing instructors, thehigh end technology and equipment, and this beautiful programcalendar, there's even more! To aid in student success, thereare a number of added value programs that help our students tosucceed. Two such programs are:

GAP PROGRAM The Graduate Access Program allowsgraduates to continue to practice the valuable skills they havelearned and constantly improve their portfolio for an additionalthree months directly after graduation. Students pay a refundabledeposit in order to participate in the GAP program. Someconditions and restrictions apply.

TUTORING We understand that not all students learn atan equal pace, nor can they grasp all concepts being taughtintuitively. With this in mind, we provide some tutoring for thosestudents in need of extra assistance at no charge.

    overviewSt T a't gt nt o Us!

No, we're not travelling through space, meeting aliens, orshooting people with lasers...yet. However we are teleportingeducational excellence directly to students via the latestand greatest in video conferencing technology through ourDistributed Learning Centres (DLC).

Over the past several years, Centre schools have takenadvantage of using video conferencing in a variety of ourprograms and have found it to be a very successful mediumin bringing specialized expertise into the classroom. Studentsare able to access instructors working within progressive artsand technology careers without the instructor ever having toleave their city.

The Distributed Learning Centres are high-end, high quality, high definition, video conference locations that have been setup at our campuses. The system allows instruction to takeplace from one campus, to potentially several, in as life-like asetting as technology can allow us today. Both instructors andstudents can interact in life-size high definition (HDTV) withhigh quality audio. We invite everyone to visit one of our DLCequipped campuses to experience the future of educationalinstruction for themselves.

Photography began with still images, portraits, and scenes frozen in a single frame.Motion picture took these single frames and ran them through a camera at 24frames per second to capture moving images. Fusion is the convergence of both.

The emergence of inexpensive large chip, shallow depth-of-field 35mm cameras hasbrought a greater production value and artistry to the visual medium. These cameras aresmaller, lighter, and greater in resolution than they have ever been in the past, and thismeans there is now one tool that can combine both the film and photographic industries.

Students taking Centre for Arts and Technology's fusion program will become true visualartists. Being trained in photography, filmmaking, screenwriting, and audio will create aperfect storm of skills - whether it's capturing a frozen photographic moment, shooting anews broadcast, or writing and dreaming of the independent feature film that with theseskills could be attainable to create.

The student is the artist, and the Centre provides hands-on training in the equipment,

software, protocols, and industry knowledge that combine photography and filmmaking.Graduates of this program could be shooting magazine stills on Monday, filming a musicvideo Tuesday, arranging a high fashion photography shoot Wednesday, recordingcommercials on Thursday, and save Friday for photographing and taking live streamingvideo of a breaking news story.

The 12 month Digital Fusion Filmmaking program is perfect for people interested in visualarts, multimedia, photography, and filmmaking, so training would be useful for those newto post-secondary education or those looking to upgrade their training in the corporate ormedia environment.
