Essentials of Absolute Block Working
For Single line provided with MACLS• Line Clear has been received from the
Block Station in advance• The line is clear of trains running in
the same direction, up to the first stop signal and an adequate distance beyond it
• The line is clear of trains running in the opposite direction
• The adequate distance shall not be less than 180 meters in MACLS
Special Requirements - Indications
• LINE CLOSED– At both the stations– When the instruments are normal and there is no train in
the block section
• TRAIN COMING FROM– At the receiving station– When Line Clear for a train to leave the Block station in
rear has been given
• TRAIN GOING TO– At the sending station– When Line Clear for a train to leave a Block station has
been received from the Block station ahead
• TRAIN ON LINE– At both the stations– For Token less Block Instruments
Special Requirements – Push Button
• TRAIN GOING TO & COMING FROM– Button for TRAIN GOING TO– Co-operation of the Station Masters be
dispensed with
• TRAIN ON LINE be automatic• LINE CLOSED– Button for LINE CLOSED– Can be dispensed with where an
automatic device of closing the Block section is provided
