About the Institute

Central Training Institute for

Instructors, Chennai was established

in November, 1962 under the aegis of

NCVT, DGE&T, Min. of Labour and

Employment, Govt. of India, New

Delhi with ILO assistance, to train

Vocational Instructors for Industrial

Training Institutes/ Centers

About the Institute

Subsequently Model Training

Institute was also created in

February 1965 to enable instructor

trainees to have practice teaching.

Presently the institute has been

identified to train the craft

instructors required for Center Of

Excellence (COE) under the World

Bank assisted “Vocational Training

improvement Project”

Our Mission

To Produce Competent,

Disciplined and Quality Craft

Instructors and Craftsmen in

certain designated trades

ObjectivesOnly Institute in India to Train exclusively Craft

Instructors

• Training provided to the faculty of state

government craft instructors as and when

deputed by them

• Training provided to the faculty of central

government, public sector, private sector,

establishments and faculty of private ITCs

• Training provided to individuals who are

desirous to become craft instructors
