Architectural elegance is a key element at The Avenue. It takes its cue from nearby Hampstead Garden Suburb, a Conservation Area and London’s original ‘garden suburb’.
Handsome brick elevations, tall chimneys, Georgian style windows and deep roofs all contribute to the distinctive look of this neighbourhood, which was developed in the
early years of the twentieth century. These architectural themes are now employed in a contemporary context at The Avenue, creating a twenty-first century interpretation of the garden suburb for modern lifestyles. More than simply homes, The Avenue is an inspiring environment that sets new standards in its locality.

A garden in London is something to be treasured, and all residents of The Avenue have access to this essential, life-enhancing resource. The houses and apartments are set in tranquil yet sociable surroundings, which include a wealth of mature trees, a central paved courtyard and numerous grassy spots with benches to sit and enjoy the sunshine.
In addition, each house has its own front and rear garden, as well as a patio area, paved in sandstone slabs. Berkeley has landscaped the front garden and the rear garden is turfed, so that you can start using and enjoying your outdoor space immediately.

One of London’s most famous villages, Hampstead, is a charming destination for enjoying local life and is conveniently close to The Avenue. It is a genuine community with a long history whose association with artists, writers, intellectuals, musicians, actors and politicians has given Hampstead its cultured and intellectual reputation.
Today, Hampstead combines the best of modern and traditional. The winding historic streets provide a treasure trove of places to browse, where you can discover fashion brands, designer boutiques, traditional butchers and bakers, antique shops and a large branch of Waterstone’s. The Hampstead arts scene continues to thrive, with its own deluxe cinema, The Everyman, and a small but highly regarded theatre, Pentameters.

If you live to eat you’ll find a great selection of shops, restaurants and bars to indulge your appetite, within close proximity to The Avenue.
Regents Park Road in Finchley has an almost bewildering array of international cuisine, including Japanese, Brazilian, Turkish and Iranian. When you’re in the mood for something really British, the family-friendly Two Brothers serves fish and chips in style.
Hampstead also has a great selection of places to eat and has always been known for its cafe culture. In summer, tables from the many coffee shops and cafés spill out onto the pavement giving the village a cosmopolitan ambience. Some establishments have been there for generations and are much loved local institutions. Newer bars and eateries come and go according to the gastro-mood of the moment, but there’s always somewhere intriguing to go for a special dinner or casual supper. Many of Hampstead’s old-world pubs also offer excellent food to please their discerning clientele.

The Avenue is the perfect setting for a growing family, and as some of the most important decisions you have to make for your family concern education, its proximity to a variety of excellent schools is a real bonus.
Kenwood House
In this part of London there’s as much outdoor space as anyone could want. In character it ranges from the surprisingly wild expanses of Hampstead Heath, to well kept parks and sports pitches.

Victoria Park, Finchley, is a typical Victorian town park and is very local to The Avenue. Its attractions include carefully tended flowerbeds, tennis courts, play areas for all ages and a multi sports court.
Golders Hill Park, with its children’s zoo, is a lovely spot for a family afternoon out, and golfers really are spoilt for choice with Hampstead, Highgate, Hendon and Finchley golf courses all within a few miles of The Avenue.
In contrast, one the largest outdoor resources is Hampstead Heath, an oasis of nearly 800 acres of woodlands, footpaths, secret ponds and grassy slopes. It’s one of London’s highest points and from parts of it, there are panoramic views towards the City and Canary Wharf. The jewel of the Heath is Kenwood House, now a notable art gallery. The adjacent cafe, The Brew House, is a favourite meeting place for Sunday brunch, or tea and cake after an energetic walk.
