Directing a Play

It all started when I and my friend had an idea of doing a play based on Harry

Potter. Soon we explained our idea to our English teacher as if we were explaining

a Billion dollar project and she agreed to it. We wrote the script and I started

enjoying it so much that I didn’t even get to know when we were all ready with our

characters to start practicing. I and my friend Nilanjana were the directors as we

had read the Harry Potter series and we also watched the movies. A good director

creates an environment, which gives the actor the encouragement to fly. I knew we

were here to make the actors feel that they belonged to the world they are

portraying, not to force our opinion on them. Theatre is fast, enjoyable and truly

rewarding. I believe in great live performances. The actors were very co-operative

which made our work easier. We were like two sides of a coin. She can make people

work according to her and I tend to listen to the actors before telling to them what

to do. This was a marvellous mixture which led to an incredible theatre. I will

never forget this in my entire life. It was almost magical. We made the props,

decided the costumes, edited the music and our play was ready. On the day of the

play we were really nervous but, it was really out alluring. As Steve Jobs once said

'Great things are done by a team of people. I am very much thankful to my teacher,

Co-ordinator and the actors. Team work truly makes a dream come true.

A journey called life

Life is a journey, never gets stopped,

takes through the toughest paths.

Routes are muddy, rocky, steep and troublesome too,

obstacles, may try to seize you.

Fiesta of success, though gritty to clinch

leaves some positive impact in life.

Excited I am to quench the thirst for success,

with all efforts for gaining the extreme.

Shooing off, intolerable attitudes of others

nourishing the goodness in one's own life,

is the key to success, I might say.

Learn from nature, from own fiasco,

makes yourself strong to endure.

Let the routes be full of pricking thorns,

will never let me down, on my way.

Be ready, be bold to face challenges

that's how we confront the game of life

A Day In Water

When you are in a knee depth water,

you feel something curling around

your ankle. What is your reaction ?

(write it in the form of a poem)

My eyes filled with anger

I saw a snake rather

I screamed louder

Everyone gathered

And made me safer
