Happy Mother's DayWishing all CCSC mums a great day and letting you

know that our usual, immensely popular Mother's Day

breakfast at the CCSC cafe will be postponed until

later in the year. We look forward to celebrating with

you then. In the meantime, the students have

prepared some special messages for you. Please click

here to watch the short video.

Parent Drop Off Location is Changing As we continue to enhance operations to make our

College site more effective, we have decided to

temporarily trial a new drop off location in the

mornings. This will allow for a seamless entry to the

College site for our students and transition to the hand

washing routine prior to starting the day. Parents are

asked to drive as far forward as possible out the front

of the admin building and keep to the left. If you can

quickly assist your child alight from the vehicle our

staff will then assist them along the edge of the road

and across the pedestrian crossing where they will

then go to wash their hands before starting the day.

Once your child has exited the vehicle we ask that you

turn right which will enable you to turn back onto The

Avenue for a quick exit. If you need to visit the College

office or stay on site we ask that you park your car

near the College Cafe. Our afternoon pick up point is

unchanged.

South Bus UpdateDue to the significant number of students catching our

South bus we have added an additional bus to this

route. In the mornings the white bus will pick up

students before Rogers Park and continue onto

College without picking up any additional students.

Our new blue bus will start at Rogers Park and then

pick up students from this point through to the

College. The reverse will happen in the afternoon with

the blue bus dropping off students from the College

site through to Rogers Park and then the white bus

dropping students after this point.

ReportsEach semester (i.e. end of Term 2 and Term 4) all

schools in NSW are required to provide a report to

families. At CCSC parents have overwhelmingly

requested they be provided with regular feedback and

as such, we invite you to make contact with your

child's coach or teacher throughout the term to make a

time to come and have a chat about your child’s

development. It is our intention to provide a

summative report in a written form (PDF format) at the

end of each term which will be uploaded into our

parent portal (Edumate). Families are advised that the

reports for Term 2 will be made available at the start of

Term 3. This ensures staff and students have the

entire term to work on the development of students

with staff providing feedback throughout the term.

During the term break they will draft the summative

reports. This also ensures when parents receive their

reports they have the opportunity to make an

appointment to meet with staff if required. We would

remind parents that there should never be surprises in

the reports as these are purely summative in nature

and if you ever have any concerns during the term it is

imperative that you call to discuss them with the

appropriate staff member.

Standing ArrangementsParents who have special arrangements in place for their child that have historically been handled by the

admin team are now asked to make contact with their home room teacher if you need to communicate

anything that is happening. If you have a message you need passed onto your child during the day (i.e. they

left home and you forgot to let them know about something important) please still call the college and we will

pass on the message during the day, however, for arrangements that are occurring into the future we ask that

you email your child’s home room teacher and they will develop a strategy together with you on how to assist

with any arrangements.

Year 1 & 2 Writing__________________________________________

The students in Years 1 and 2 have been writing some

amazing stories of late. Click here to read Ben

Odeltorp's Alien story !

Today the cafe held a cooking class with year 1 and 2

to make mother's day gifts. The kids were given two

options; Oat and banana cookies and Chocolate

Cherry crackles. As you can imagine they loved

getting involved and their hands dirty. They all did a

great job as you can see from the photo. Hope we

haven't spoiled any surprises!

Coaches ChallengeDelivering great content for our students, the CCSC

football department is creating a coaches challenge

each week. Take a look at the video here, record your

best attempt at the skill and send through to your

coach on google classroom. We look forward to

seeing your efforts.

Zoom with Gianni Stensness_____________________________________Today we spoke to Gianni Stensness, CCM and NZ

international professional footballer, via Zoom.

Our students heard about his progression from

academy to NPL to A-League and then onto

international football. It provided a great opportunity

for our students to ask questions and learn from a

young player enjoying the life of a professional

sportsperson.
