Fern Valera WilkinsonSnow Zinser was born Jan.20, 1913, on the familyfarm in Alpha Township,Jackson County, Jackson,Minn. She was raised withtwo brothers and a sister,moving the family to SpiritLake in the 1930’s.

Fern married Jean Snowand had four boys. Shemoved her family to ClearLake in 1946 to the Snowresidence on Main Avenue.Jean passed away in 1966.She worked at Armourretiring in 1976. She spenther retirement years trav-eling through most of thecontinental states andAlaska, twice driving amotor home with her sec-ond husband, EmoryZinser.

Fern and Emory lived insouthern Texas until 1996.Fern is currently a residentat Oakwood Care Center.

Patchen has beeninvolved in 4-H for eightyears, and is a member ofthe Bits and Spurs 4-HClub, Sharpshooters 4-HClub, and the 4-H Coun-try Youth Council.Through 4-H, she has

shown horses, poultry, andveterinary science, pho-tography, and food andnutrition projects at theNorth Iowa Fair and is

involved inarchery.She hascompeted atthe IowaState Fairthe past twoyears withher horses.Patchen

works part-time at Shopkoand also enjoys competingat open horse shows, run-ning and hiking.

Catherine is the daughter of Bob and Jane Brogham-mer of Clear Lake. Robert’s parents are Andrea and thelate Ron Keech of Iowa City.

Maid of honor was Anne Boileau, sister of the bride.Catherine’s other attendants were Cassie Glidden, Cal-lie Glidden, Molly Bonin, and Stephanie Lindquist. Bestman was Amos Dupuich, brother-in-law of the groom.Robert’s other attendants were Andy Buller, BryanRenne Kamp, Matt Clancy, and Colin O’Brien.

A reception was held at Green Ridge Farm in Lisbon,Iowa, and was hosted by Joe and Jamie Spreitzer, uncleand aunt of the bride.

Catherine received a BA in French from CreightonUniversity, and a Masters in Foreign Language Teachingfrom the University of Iowa.

Robert received a BS in Biochemistry from the Uni-versity of Iowa, and a DDS (Doctor of Dental Science)from the University of Iowa. He is employed by AAADental of Bettendorf.

The couple honeymooned in San Diego, Calif., andNapa Valley in April.

Grandparents remember grandsonIn memory of Zaid Lagios who died 20 years ago on

Jan. 17, 1993, and missed every minute of every day. Wecontinue to be perplexed by his untimely and tragicdeath, and the fact that no one has been brought to jus-tice for his murder. Zaid was a beautiful boy, just 9months old, when he was taken from us, but we restassured that he is in the loving care of Jesus and we willbe reunited with him one day. We love him and misshim.
