Jeffrey graduated from Rockwell-Swaledale High School,and received a B.S. in finance and economics from the Uni-versity of Northern Iowa. He is employed as an ag/com-mercial lender at First Security Bank in Rockwell.

The couple honeymooned in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, andwill reside in Charles City.

IINNDDIIAANNOOLLAA —NineSimpson College studentsearned first-place andrunner-up awards recentlyat the fourth annual IowaMathematical ModelingChallenge at the Universityof Iowa. Stephen Henrich,of Mason City, and aSimpson College student,was on a three-memberteam that received firstplace-summary.

Five teams of studentsrepresented Simpson inthe event. They wereamong 19 teams that com-peted. Students worked inteams of three, for 24hours to solve a problem,submit a summary of theirresults and give a presen-tation. The teams wereallowed to choose one oftwo problems based oncurrent events.

Four awards were given:First-place presentationand runner-up presenta-tion, as well as first-placesummary and runner-upsummary. Simpson Col-lege received three of theawards.

united in marriage on Aug. 5, 2011, at the Botanical Cen-ter Garden in Des Moines, Iowa, by Pastors Mark Deckerand Mike Simiele.

Kayla is the daughter of Dan and Lonnie Arnevik ofThompson. Kayla’s grandparents are Jerry and CindyArnevik of Troy, Mo., and Florence Potter of Forest City,Iowa.

Cole’s parents are Dana and Becky Fister of Riceville.Cole’s grandparents are Sid and Martha Fister of Lyle,Minn., and Everett and Mary Hansen of Austin, Minn.

Maid of honor was Elyse Fredin. Kayla’s other atten-dants were Falon Juhl and Courtney Warneke.

Best man was Ryan Kramer. Cole’s other attendantswere Trent Flander and Christopher McGrane.

The flower girls were Harley Conner, Alaina Arnevik,Lindie Lingle, Averie Arnevik, and Mahri Lingle. Usherswere Lucas Nelson and Tanner Hansen. The bride’s per-sonal attendants were Madeline and Lexie Arnevik.

Special music included “Better Man,” a solo by thegroom accompanied by Chris McGrane, and “When ISay I Do,” a duet by the couple.

A reception was held at Ramada Inn, Des Moines,hosted by Brad and Holly Arnevik and Warren and ChrisHaacke.

Kayla graduated from North Iowa High School, Buffa-lo Center, and Allen College, Waterloo. She is employedby Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Colegraduated from Riceville High School, North Iowa AreaCommunity College, and the University of NorthernIowa. He is a student in the Doctorate of Physical Thera-py program at Des Moines University, and is employed byMercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

The couple will reside in West Des Moines.
