Thes€ bookswill assist students in building a rechnical foundalion graduallt and logically from the very lirst level ofstudla Thus, technical requiremenb are now included ar rhe Prepamtory level, \\'irh five-finger patternsand major scal€s to be played hands separately (HS), and rhe conrrary motion scale ro be played handstogether (HT).

The technical requirements are designed ro complement rhe reperroir€ rbat studenrs are learning ar thesame level of study, and to prepare adequately for rhe challenges o[ the nexr level. By studying lhernaterial presented for their level over the course of the year, studenrs should find rhar rhey are *,eLlprepared to meet these challenges. The requiremens for each level are summarized rn an overvjew chart.so that students and teachers can see at a glance what rhey will be working on to prepare for rheir
