CEDAR is a reliable wideband signal processing platform featuring flexible configurations. It supports 1RU and 2RU frames. CEDAR provides power supply, HD/SD video sync reference and audio sync reference for all the internal modules. Multiple control interfaces include LAN and RS-232/422. It is equipped with LCD display and buttons on the front panel for status indication and control.

CEDAR uses front-pluggable power supply unit, control module and rear-pluggable functional modules. With easily-installed components, CEDAR can be maintained and upgraded easily.

CEDAR supports redundant power supply. The internal cooling assembly is controlled by a temperature detector located in the frame center. It creates a safe and reliable operating environment for the modules.

CEDAR uses dual built-in video synchronization signal generators and dual audio synchronization signal generators. Video and audio sync clock signal on each channel is associated with genlock unit. This design contributes to interference suppression and clock jitter reduction. CEDAR uses redundant design for the generator and the genlock unit; one primary and one backup. The platform detects the operating status of the primary and backup units on a real-time basis and performs auto-switching when necessary.

CEDAR distributes sync signals to modules in the frame. The modules can then separately pick up the desired signals according to the supported signal system.

The frame and modules can be controlled through the local front panel which is equipped with LCD display and status LEDs.

CEDAR uses built-in RS-232/422 Hub and Ethernet Switcher that directly interface with the modules. This design provides transparent transmission for signals and eliminates protocol nonconformity.

CEDAR, as an A/V signal processing plat form used in the broadcasting and TV industry, can hold numerous HD/SD video and audio modules. Various module functions include keying, logo generation, emergency switching, audio processing, up/down switching, embedding, de-embedding, distribution, frame sync and signal conversion.

SD-SDI 2×1 Auto-Sync Emergency Changeover CD-ECO

CD-ECO is a modular and 2×1 auto-sync emergency changeover specially designed to work in a CEDAR frame. It performs synchronization according to the external reference signal or the main signal. The main input SD-SDI signal and the backup input SD-SDI signal are automatically synchronous for seamless and clean switching.

CD-ECO provides two SD-SDI inputs (MAIN, BACK-UP) and two outputs (SDI, CVBS/SDI). The SDI output channel supports by-pass protection, which ensures the program can be output without interruption; and the SDI/CVBS output channel can be configured for either SD-SDI output or CVBS output as needed.

CD-ECO detects the presence of SD-SDI signal and the embedded audio on a real-time basis. It identifies the absent signal according to the predetermined conditions. In case of loss, CD-ECO will route the corresponding valid signal to the output channel under automation; while send alarm to the control panel to alert the operator’s for manual switching.
