The pool opened successfully with over 300 bathers over the Memorial Day weekend. The Starlighters put on a good show, and about 80 members and their guests enjoyed the Memorial Day Picnic. We had a crowd of 430 for the Taste of Caldwell on Friday night with all proceeds benefiting Com- munities in Schools of Caldwell County. Many area restaurants were represented showing off their culinary treats, and the silent auction was a big success. The year's biggest event, the Member-Guest, is about to kick off with 60 teams. Kudos to Justin Pennell, Mark Mayberry and Sterling Anders for their hard work lining up teams and spon- sors. Let's hope for some favorable weather and a great time for all the players and their guests. The Father's Day Buffet will be in the MDR on Sunday, June 16, from 11:30-1:30 pm. Chef John and the kitchen crew will have a feast for all! Sign up by calling the club office. The CRCC "Lounge Do-Over" is slated for Saturday night, the 22nd, with all proceeds going to refurbish the bar with new tables and chairs. Cost is $100.00 for the 1st ticket and $25.00 for a 2nd ticket for spouse or guest. Menu is a 1st class steak dinner with all the trimmings. There will be a draw down for credits at the club in $100.00 denominations, and if we sell 100 tickets, there will be a $1,000.00 grand prize credit for the last ticket drawn. Thanks Mike Maynard (LP) for this great idea! Call the office to sign up today! Birthday Night will be on Saturday, June 29, in the FPR. Anyone whose birthday is in May or June gets their meal for 1/2 price and a complimentary dessert. Full details including the menu will be sent out via Constant Contact. The Mixed Couples Golf Tournament will be held on Sunday, June 30. An entry application can be picked up in the Golf Shop and will also go out under separate cover shortly. We can use your help at the pool by not bringing glass inside the pool area. We had a bottle break over the weekend, and it caused a dangerous situation. Please remember all food & bever- age at the pool must be purchased from the club. Your cooperation and understanding are most appreciated! One final note deals with walking and riding on the golf course. Signs have been posted where someone could walk or drive a cart on to the course from the roads stating you must be a member or guest golfer for the day to be on the course as it is private property. Also, no one under 16 is allowed to drive a cart on Club property. Thanks for your help with these matters, and we look forward to a relaxing and safe Summer! Jim Hart, GM

The course has become very dry due to the lack of rainfall. We are watering the best we can with our limited system. The ball is rolling a lot further. Hopefully, we will get some much needed rain this month. We have been putting out mulch around the clubhouse and course to spruce things up before Member-Guest. We cut down the holly bushes along the Fireplace Room to improve the view of 9 green. We will plant a lower growing bush in the fall. We ask that you please park your carts on the path at tees and greens to re-duce wear in these heavy traffic areas to prevent loss of grass.

Thank you for your help repairing your ball mark and one other!

Robert Reid, GCSAA Golf Course Superintendent

Chef’s Corner We'll be busy during Member-Guest with opening party Thursday night, lunches and dinners Friday and Saturday and the awards reception Sunday. We look forward to providing excellent food and service. Due to the M-G, there will be no Thursday Night Dining this week. We will resume service on Thursday, June 13.

Thanks for your continued support and suggestions!! Executive Chef,

John Deschler, CIA
