LOOKING FOR RINGERS FOR OUR EASTER HANDBELL CHOIR! The Saint Juliana Handbell Choir is looking for ringers for the Lent-Easter Season. Right now many of our members are going through surgery or are recuperating from illness and surgery, so we are quite short-handed ringers for the Season. We are reaching out to our Congregation to see if anyone would like to join us for a short term: Lent and Easter ONLY. How hard is it to ring bells? Do I need to know music? It is very easy to ring bells and NO,YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW HOW TO READ MUSIC. Let me explain… We practice 2 hours on a Thursday evening plus setup time/takedown time. For that amount of time we simply do not have time to learn a full piece with musical notation every month. But we utilize a "shortcut plan" called "Sing and Ring." We use a system of "circled words" for a good portion of our music. This al-lows us to be able to play once a month without having to struggle through much musical notation. It gets us "up and running" immediately with fantastic results. I transcribe a regular piece of music and work out the notation so it looks like this: If you were ringing this bell, you would ring ONLY the circled word. Together with the other people ringing different circled words, we make a song! See how easy it is! I know YOU can do it! We need your help. Won’t you join us this season? Michael Crisci at 847.830.1513 or [email protected]

COLLECTION FOR THE CHURCH IN CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE NEXT WEEKEND

MARCH 14/15

Tuesday, March 03, 2015 C G ’ N Dear Friend, Over a year ago, as my treatment for cancer intensified, I found myself unable to contribute personally to this network of electronic rela onships. Those who have been part of it over some years know that the communion of saints is a mystery of faith that is deeply embedded in my spirituality. Including in the net-work the saint of each day in the liturgi-cal calendar seemed a good way to en-large the network itself and keep it from completely disappearing. Now in my re rement, I would like to begin a new chapter in the life of the network, changing its name to “Cardinal George’s Network” and commi ng my-self to one or two reflec ons a week on faith, spirituality and discipleship. Many have kept in touch through this electron-ic network. I hope my prayers and com-ments have been as useful to their spir-itual lives as their prayers and comments have been encouraging and inspiring for mine. God bless you. Francis Cardinal George, OMI

Anthony Joseph Kumiga, son of Anthony and Kristen (LaBrant) Kumiga

“I bap ze you in the name of the

Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.”

The Year of Consecrated Life

November 30, 2014 through

February 2, 2016 Wake up the world! Be witnesses of a different way of doing things, of acting, of living!” Pope Francis.

Pope Francis joyfully announced The Year of Consecrated Life, to be celebrated throughout the world! Throughout this very spe-cial year, we can pray, express gratitude, and raise awareness about how consecrated life is be-ing lived in Chicago and beyond. Was there a special sister, brother or religious order priest who in-fluenced your life? Do you know any religious today? Why not in-vite him or her to speak to your family or parish group. If you would like to arrange for a sister, brother, or religious order priest to speak at your parish, con-tact Sr. Lisa Polega SLW at 312-534-8234 or [email protected] at the Office for Religious. Please pray for vocations to con-secrated life. Visit the Office for Religious Year of Consecrated Life’s website at www.OfficeForReligious.org. CANCER SUPPORT T , M 10 7:00 Our next Saint Juliana Cancer Support Mee ng will take place on Tuesday, March 10, at 7:00pm in the Parish Center. We are pleased to have David and Jen-nifer Briggs joining us to help everyone experience the healing power of music. David is a counselor and psychotherapist in Edison Park. His wife Jennifer works for the American Cancer Society. We are very happy to have them entertain and inform us with their music. He encourages all who come to bring a favorite CD that has meant something to them. Music has great power to help you heal, you don't need an appointment to use it. It doesn't cost anything and can be done in privacy or with family and friends. If you are recently diagnosed, an ongoing pa ent, a survivor, a caregiver, or a former caregiver who has experienced loss, we URGE you to come and take ad-vantage of this special evening. PLEASE JOIN US!
