    Range level expectations

    Intermediate-midCommunication in languages other than

    English

    1. Initiate, sustain and close conversations,

    (written or oral) on a variety of topics, using

    predominantly familiar vocabulary andgrammatical structures. (Interpersonal

    mode)2. Comprehend a passage or conversation

    (written or oral) in a variety of situationsand on familiar topics, using predominantly

    familiar vocabulary and grammatical

    structures. (Interpretive mode)3. Create, express, perform, and/or present

    using learned and spontaneous language, in

    an organized structure (written or oral)) on avariety of predominantly familiar topics,

    with accuracy, comprehensibility, and some
