Control Data Corporation now offers a new data proces-sing service designed especially for consumer loan andsales finance companies. CDC's CYBERLOAN Service isan on-line consumer loan system developed for modernlarge-scale computers using traditional consumer loanindustry time-tested techniques. It extends the originalconcept of CDC's CYBERNET Service, the nation's mostcomprehensive nationwide computer network, by auto-mating all operations handled in branch offices of con-sumer loan companies.

Offered as a "total services" package, CYBERLOANService provides the hardware (including the terminal),software and communications equipment required for on-line processing of loan accounts, either on a lease orpurchase arrangement. The service also provides com-prehensive training for branch office personnel, and caninclude technical and facilities management support todevelop customized programming and even to operate acomplete computer system for your organization.

HOW CYBERLOAN OPERATES

Key to the new service is a stand-alone programmablecomputer called the CYBERLOAN Terminal, which oper-ates in many modes with a high-throughput capability.

This typewriter-entry terminal records all transactions ona continuous form, debits and credits ledgers, printschecks and performs other traditional functions requiredin branch offices.

Using the KRONOS time-sharing operating system, termi-nal operators converse with a centrally located CONTROLDATA CYBER 70 Model 73 supercomputer to create,update and maintain loan account records. Because theKRONOS System is a generalized, standard, commerciallyavailable operating system, it provides even more thanthese basic branch office operations. As part of theCYBERNET Network, KRONOS also allows users to per-form traditional time-sharing and remote-batch operations

concurrently. Thus users not only execute their own grams on this system but also have access to CoData's comprehensive time-sharing and remote-bapplications program library.

And a wide range of high-spterminals for linking your home office to the central cputer are also available from Control Data Corporationeither a lease or purchase agreement.

CDC can train your braoffice personnel to operate the terminals and softwusing a custom-designed comprehensive training page of user manuals, self-teaching materials, flip-chand other documentation. CDC instructors can teach ypersonnel to operate and maintain your primary sucomputer system; they can also assist in the converof your present record-keeping system to the CYBLOAN system. CYBERLOAN Service will be used by Commercial CreditCompany (a subsidiary of Control Data), and its associ-ated loan subsidiaries. Conversion to the new service willbegin in 1972.
