CCUIH is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) statewide alliance of Urban Indian health organizations and substance abuse treatment facilities collectively referred to as UIHOs.

CCUIH supports health promotion and access for American Indians living in cities throughout California.

CCUIHs mission is to facilitate shared develop-ment resources for our members and to raise public awareness in order to support a health and wellness network that meets the needs of American Indians living in urban communities.

By blending the leadership and experience of our consortium members with shared resource development, and by combining applied re-search with educational and policy advocacy efforts, CCUIH offers innovative strategies to support the health and wellness needs of the Urban Indian community in California.

COMMUNITY HEALTH ORGANIZING CCUIH leads collaborative, community health organizing efforts to increase access to and im-prove the quality of health care for Urban Indian communities. CCUIHs strategies are focused on increasing capacity and improving organi-zational efficacy for our Urban Indian health network. We leverage UIHO clinic leadership, as well as grassroots community-guided efforts, to address policy needs and health care inequities for American Indians in California.

PUBLIC EDUCATION & CIVIC ENGAGEMENT CCUIH is dedicated to increasing public knowl-edge and visibility of American Indians living in urban areas. Public education is facilitated through the provision of cultural competency trainings, participation in public health and po-litical forums, and through the development of American Indian centered media and marketing strategies. CCUIH increases Urban Indian civic engagement by supporting grassroots policy advocacy initiatives, providing internships and fellowships for students, and by making policy information, analysis, position papers.

CCUIH SERVICES

POLICY ADVOCACY CCUIH is a statewide resource on Urban Indian health information and related policy decisions. CCUIH monitors legislation and policy regarding local, state, and federal health care initiatives to ensure that Urban Indians are included in planning efforts to increase health care access and reduce health disparities of marginalized groups. CCUIH participates in Indian Consulta-tion, and distributes policy briefs and position statements on relevant Urban Indian issues.

RESEARCH REPORTSCCUIH analyzes data from various reporting systems to produce research reports on the Urban Indian population, as well as clinic rev-enue and services.

TRAINING & TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CCUIH provides facilitation of culturally appropriate training and technical assistance seminars for consortium members and systems partners.
