At the hospital level, I was responsible for tracking all consumer activity, from inquiry to enrollment, in the comments section of PBAR for patients with hospital accounts, and via SharePoint Survey for consumers that did not. Additionally, I participated in community outreach events, representing Doctors Hospital, advocating the significance of healthcare coverage and educating communities on the Affordable Care Act in a consumer-level manner, and providing enrollment assistance at said outreach events as well. I also participated in a non-profit, non-partisan organization, focused on furthering the Affordable Care Act outreach and enrollment efforts, called the Dallas County ACA Coalition, on which I sat both Community Engagement and Operations Committees. In addition to my Health Plan Enrollment duties, I assisted the Clinical Informatics Department in the Patient Portal effort, rounding on patients on various floors to present the MyHealthRec concept, encourage registration and walk patients through accessing via their smartphone or tablet. As open enrollment drew nearer, I trained various other staff members to carry on these Patient Portal duties in my stead. I am also a commissioned Notary Public, independent of the hospital.
