DAY 1 Fly to BeijingTake a scheduled �ight from London Heathrow to Beijing, or we can arrange departures from your local airport.

DAY 2 Arrive BeijingUpon arrival in Beijing, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel for a three night stay. Theafternoon is at leisure to relax or explore the surrounding area. Your guide will be pleased to advise you on whatyou can do. In the evening is your chance to meet your fellow travellers over dinner.

DAY 3 Beijing City TourThis morning, your Beijing City Tour starts at the Temple of Heaven, where Ming and Qing emperors onceworshipped and where nowadays you may see Tai Chi being practised in the courtyard. A stroll through awe-inspiring Tiananmen Square, the largest square in the world, leads on to the Forbidden City, which served asthe grand imperial palace for centuries. The �nal stop of today’s tour is the Hutongs, the labyrinthine areawhere the city’s people traditionally lived, and some still do.

DAY 4 Great WallToday’s main highlight, after breakfast at the hotel, isthe Great Wall at Mutianyu. This section of the wall isamong the best preserved, and not as busy, enablingyou to admire the surrounding picturesque countrysidein a more relaxed atmosphere. On your return toBeijing, you will have a chance to view the amazingarchitecture of the Birds Nest Stadium and WaterCube, venues for the memorable 2008 Olympics. In theevening, enjoy a sumptuous Peking Duck Dinner, alocal delicacy and a culinary must.

This is followed by atrip to the Muslim Quarter to see local community life.Finally, transfer to the airport for your �ight to Guilinand anovernight stay.

DAY 8 Li River Cruise to YangshuoThe tour continues with a cruise on the breathtaking LiRiver towards Yangshuo. Sit back and relax as the

tranquil rural scenes of buffalo farming on the riceterraces and the towering karst mountain peaks passby. This evening there is an optional spectacular‘Impressions of Liu Sanjie’ show, staged on the river.

DAY 9 Yangshuo to GuilinThis morning is free at leisure to explore this beautiful area independently. You may wish to walk or cyclearound the picturesque countryside, or perhaps join an optional cookery class. Return to Guilin, visiting theastonishing Reed Flute Caves along the way, and in the evening, maybe enjoy an intriguing cormorant �shingshow, bookable locally and subject to availability.

DAY 10 Chongqing and Yangtze River CruiseEnjoy breakfast at your hotel before catching the bullettrain to Chongqing. On arrival visit the ancient markettown of Ciqikou, and in the evening, have a tastydinner in a local restaurant before boarding your 5*ship for your cruise on the majestic Yangtze River.
