Congratulations to the American Legion Post #30 and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #30 on their 100 - year anniversary. This Veteran organization’s mission is to mentor youth, sponsoring community and

Congratulations to the Fergus Falls Sertoma Club on their 40th Anniversary. SERTOMA = SERvice TO MAnkind and focuses on enhancing speech and hearing impaired as well as many different community contributions.

Members of Sertoma consider it to be a “Fund & Fun” organization with great meals, professional networking, social outings and regularly scheduled

speakers of interest at weekly meetings -- and only one fundraiser a year!Through their annual Ice Fishing Derby on Pebble Lake, they raise

$10,000+ annually which is donated to the community: Otter Cove, FF Public Library, United Way, Patriot Assistance Dogs, numerous sound systems & hearing protection systems, Camp Sertoma and the Mike Rohde Spirit Scholarships. The fi shing derby is family friendly with lots of prizes for kids and adults.

Newman Signs Captures First Place at Chamber Golf ScrambleIt was “All Systems Go for Launch” at the “Outer

Space Open” at Pebble Lake Golf Club on Friday, August 16. Thank you for making the 15th Annual Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Golf Scramble a stellar success! This year’s event was the biggest golf tournament at Pebble Lake Golf Club with 128 “astronaut” golfers, 44 “alien” sponsors and a spaceship full of volunteers. The “planet” was fi lled with aliens, NASA employees, Jetsons and Coneheads!

It was a close round and Newman Signs (Nick Johnson, Aaron Pallen, Pat Traynor and Trever Swangler) captured their inaugural 1st place fi nish with Pemberton Law (Matt McGovern, Adam Evavold, Trevor Gervais and Chris Swenson) taking 2nd place closely followed by Lake Region Healthcare (Wade Jyrkas, Todd Johnson, Mike Blank and Jean Reinertson).

Knute Nelson Home Care & Hospice won the “Moon Buggy” Party Cart, fi lled with golf balls, hydrogen water, Bluetooth speaker, snacks, free golf & more, sponsored by Quality Toyota.

Astronauts and aliens were fueled throughout the

voyage with grilled “fl ying saucers” from Moore Engineering, fresh-made Premier brats from Marco, a hydration station hosted by the Fergus Falls Chamber and a baked potato bar from Zens Creative Catering.

Grand Prizes included: 55” LG Smart TV from Fergus Home & Hardware (won by Jeremy Nelson), Silver Bracelet from Mauk Jewelers, numerous prizes to enjoy outdoors: Tailgater Grill, Anti-Gravity Chairs, Patio Heater, Smoker, along with Fergus Bucks and Gift Cards/ Certifi cates.
