Princess Welcome to all the new members! I hope to see you at one of the Unit meetings this month. As Princess this year I’m in charge of setting up transportation for Grand Council in Costa Mesa, CA, in

May. If you think you would like to join us for this national event, please let me know and I’ll make sure you get an information packet. It’s a week of fun, meeting ladies from all over the United States and Canada. There will be tours and fun with your Court along with the meetings and Unit Drills. Just ask me for information. A caravan of cars is forming from Phoenix and I’ve heard we may have a motorcycle escort!

Enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with your family and friends!! Yorkie Hugs and Dark Chocolate Kisses,

Associate Princess A big Thank You to all you wonderful ladies for your support for the Children's Hospitals. I have boxes full of beautiful crocheted and knitted quilts, as well as some toys and other miscellaneous items. I have received several letters from the hospitals, and here is a quote, “Dolls, action figures and remote

control cars are more than just playthings at Shriners Hospitals. They are a prescription for joy! Toys have been shown to alleviate the symptoms of anxiety, boredom and even pain. With that in mind, for November, I would like Barbie dolls, Legos, toy cars and trucks, tinker toys etc., please. Also, if anyone has toiletries from our recent trip, please bring them in, also I am still collecting the pull tabs.

First Ceremonial Lady Welcome to our new group of Ladies! I am looking forward to seeing you at the November meeting. If you would like to attend any of the Unit Meetings, or have any questions about the Units, please ask me. I’ll let you know where to go and who to contact. You are welcome as a guest at any time.

If you were not at the last Ceremonial and Dinner, you missed a good time. With the holidays approaching, we are all starting to get busy. But remember that the coming holiday season is the time to remember friends, old and new. Attending a Court Meeting is a an opportunity to reconnect with your friends.

Our next Membership Tea is scheduled for January 10, 2016. (Yes, the new year is coming soon!) You will hear more about it in your Unit Meetings, or ask you Unit Leader. We had a good start to the year after our last Tea – let’s keep that momentum going!

Clowns Hello Ladies,

As we get back into the swing of things the Clowns are gearing up for some fun activities with the holidays coming. Our President Lady Lisa Gilbertson a.k.a. Peanut, helped out our friends at APS for an Easter Seals function. She had a great time face painting and being with the kids.

We invite any and all members to come and attend our unit meeting. Our meetings are the 2nd Thursday of the month. Our next meeting will be November 12th at 7pm. Please join us in the Red Fez Room for dinner at 5:30pm. We would love to have you attend.

Lady Debbie Jones, Vice President

Ceremonial Pageantry What a beautiful Ceremonial we had! Many thanks

to all who participated. Our next meeting will be Tuesday, November 17th

at 6:30. New members, we would love to have you visit us. It is right before the WAOUM 2017 meeting, so both would be good for you to attend.

DIRECTOR STAFF MEETINGS START AT 6:30 Welcome new members! We invite you to join us

at one of our meetings. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM. Some of us meet for dinner prior to the meeting. Our next meeting will be on No-vember 10th and will be the OV (official visit) of our High Priestess. Lady Mimi, you had a wonderful initia-tion and a big class.

We had a wonderful time at WAOUM. We won for the best costumes. We were very original in that we weren't just pirates. Some of us were parrots and wrenches. We initiated a new member into the Direc-tor Staff. Lady Debbie Ortman, we're so glad to have you as a new member.

We will be serving dinner at the next Court meet-ing on Mon. Nov. 26th. The menu will be Iris' pasta primavera with chicken. Dinner starts at 5:30 PM. Please come a little early and join us. It's a great way to get to know one another and it is the Director Staff’s main fund raiser.

Our attire for November will be the red LOS tee shirt and black slacks.

Sphinx Patrol The Patrol had eleven Members attend WAOUM.

We did a good performance. Thanks to Lady Pam Wade, whom we talked in to marching with us and she did a great job! We all managed to get fast uni-form changes accomplished, as many of us belong to three Units and did three performances! Fun Night was really great fun, we were five Parrots and a lot of Pirates. We have Lady Lou Ann Speas to thank for helping with the Parrot costumes. Sphinx Court re-ceived first prize for all their costumes.

We welcome the new Ladies and hope they will come to our next meeting. Our Christmas Party is on December 5th and our next regular unit meeting is on January 5, 2016, it is also our OV with our H.P. Lady Mimi Bohlman.

WAOUM 2017 Committee Our next meeting will be on November 17th about

7:00 after the Ceremonial Pageantry meeting. We will make decisions on several old items:

name of Fun Night, shirts/vests for us to wear, and other things. We will also discuss WAOUM 2015 as well as hold the election for our WAOUM 2017 Treas-urer.

NOTICE * NOTICE * NOTICE 2 Year Trustee Vacancy

Have you ever thought about being an officer in Sphinx Court? Well, now’s your chance. Due to the resignation of PHP Lady Dee Berkebile-Wright as Trustee 1 Year, Lady Valerie Glann-Calvin has cho-sen to move up to Trustee 1 Year which leaves a va-cancy in the Trustee 2 Year office.

The Trustees have a very important job to do. They are the keepers of our paraphernalia.

We will have election and installation of the 2 Year Trustee at our November 23rd Court Meeting.

KEEP THIS DATE IN MIND NOVEMBER 11TH, 2015 VETERANS DAY

(Wednesday) ‘Retiring of Flags’, and ‘Retiring of Fezzes’. LOS

has a rule that requires fezzes not useable must be burned. We have had many fezzes in our inventory that are not useable and need to be ‘retired’. We will use this special day to do that with a short ceremony.

The Shrine Legion of Honor will be ‘Retiring Flags’ on this special day after the Veterans Day Pa-rade and Shrine barbecue. They have graciously offered the use of the barbecue ‘pits’ after the Shrine barbecue, but before their ceremony of Retiring the Flags (flags no longer in use will be burned). My best guess for the time is 1pm – 1:30pm. We would be delighted if you could join us. Wearing of your own fez is encouraged.
