All Welcome

Welcome back to the last week of Term 3! This week marks our Year 12 students’ final week at school. School Grounds I would like to thank Shona Hando and Robert Black, who came into the school last weekend and spread fertilizer on the school grounds, including the front lawns and the sports ovals. Earlier in the year a new irrigation pump was installed in the channel and I am sure with some watering from our Grounds Assistant Greg Harrigan our grounds will look immaculate. Thank you Shona, Robert and Greg for caring so much on how our school looks and presents itself. Primary Spring Concert The Coleambally Central School Primary Spring Concert will be held this Thursday, 21st September at 12.30 pm at the Coleambally Community Club. This year secondary students have been invited to participate as audience members, as part of our aim to build an inclusive K-12 school community. Year 12 Car Wash As part of their final fundraising activities, Year 12 students will be having a car wash in the school grounds tomorrow. If you haven’t booked in your car for a wash, please consider it! Until next week,

Timothy Allen

CAREERS Are you or do you know someone who is finishing their year 12 exams this year and looking to take a gap year in 2018? Or still working out how to spend it? They may be interested in Cotton Gap - a program that supports and connects school leavers, linking them to work opportunities on Australian cotton farms straight after school. Cotton Gap ran successfully for the first time last year, placing participants in mixed and varied farm-ing enterprises across rural and regional NSW and QLD. Cotton Gap also provides an opportunity to:

Learn new skills Form new friendships Experience living in rural and regional communities Build savings Undergo training to set you up for further work opportunities Create a network to help you pursue a career in agriculture Get involved in local community activities and sport

Participants will be supported with initial training to ensure job-readiness as well as opportunity for ongoing training. Cotton Australia is calling for expressions of interest from students, parents and teachers for the 2018 Cotton Gap year.
