stock. So much that they needed to split up.They went into different parts of Canaan.

God changed Abram's name to Abraham(meaning father of the faithful). He changedSarai's name to Sarah (meaning princess).

Angels appeared to Abraham. They told himthat Sodom and Gomorrah are going to bedestroyed. The people in those cities were com-mitting great sins. Abraham went to warn Lot.Lot took his uncle's advice and left. Lot's wifeturned to look at the cities being destroyed. Shebecame a pillar of salt. (Sodom and Gomorrahrepresent sin. When you repent from sin, Goddoes not want you even looking back to it.)

After many years, Abraham and Sarah had achild. God promised that this would happen. They named him Isaac.

God tested Abraham's faith by commanding him tosacrifice Isaac. An angel stopped Abraham just intime, saying, “Do not hurt the boy!” God providedAbraham with a ram to sacrifice instead of Isaac.
