F or thirty-three years the faithful of Saint Christopher were blessed with the hospitality of the Alardt Presbyterian church. Those who were here at that time will remember how families took turns by month to have custody of the box containing the Catholic community’s possessions. It was very clear to everyone in November 1999 that the time was right for us to step out in faith and begin planning for a church of our own. All we had was our meager possessions, a small amount of money in the bank, and absolute confidence that if it was the Lord’s will for us to take upon ourselves this seemingly overwhelming challenge the Lord would see us to victory. Throughout the process of building our church, Catholics from faraway places responded to the Lord’s call in their lives to make a sacrificial offering in praise and thanksgiving for the blessings they had received. We were the recipients of their faithful response. It is our time once again to hear the Lord’s call to step out in faith. This time we are not to be the singular recipients, but we are called to share from the bounty of blessing we have received. Half the proceeds of the Home Campaign will be used to address one-time needs and specific projects within our diocese. For thirty-three years the faithful of Saint Christopher were blessed with the hospitality of the Alardt Presbyterian church. Those who were here at that time will remember how families took turns by month to have custody of the box containing the Catholic

community’s possessions.

Our own parish will keep 50% of the proceeds of the campaign and will use the funds to pave our parking lot.

Parishioners of Saint Christopher have been good stewards of her gifts. In keeping with this tradition, we will use our parish portion of the Home Campaign to pave our parking lot.

Pave the Parking Lot | $21,915Our intention is to use the dollars we raise from this campaign to add to what we already have in savings to pave the parking lot.

OTHER WAYS THE HOME CAMPAIGN WILL ASSIST ST. CHRISTOPHER

POPE FRANCIS CHARITABLE TRUST FUNDWe can apply for grants to further our charitable efforts in Jamestown and our area.

CATHOLIC EDUCATION TRUST FUNDWe can apply for grants to assist our educational programs.

Since the fund’s inception more than 10 years ago, our church has been awarded 4 grants totaling more than $23,000 in educational assistance.

PRIEST RETIREMENT FUNDDollars given to the Priest Retirement Fund will help all of our priests

plan for a dignified retirement when the time comes and fully funding the plan will reduce parish assessments needed for this effort today.
