eduard JULY 2016 INFORMATION FOR DISTRIBUTORS Instruction sheets, more pictures and information can be found on www.eduard.com Product previews are subject of change. You can download this leaflet on www.eduard.com Dear Friends, I am writing today‘s intro on a train on the way to Shizuoka, and I need to be quick about it, the final stop is about an hour from Tokyo. Today‘s newsletter is dedicated to July, which tends to be a pretty quiet month, as long as there is no flooding on the scale of in the past, and our July releases probably won‘t be whipping anybody into a frenzy, although the main model release for July is expected to be the exception rather than the rule. That item may reach the level of attention garnered by it‘s bigger brother that still is at the top of our sales performers. Of course, I am referring to the 1/72nd scale Spitfire Mk.IXc. The kit represents aircraft of the later series, so the most produced variant of all, and also the best selling of our 48th scale variants. The smaller version in many ways parallels the successful quarter scale kit, and the adage ‚don‘t fix what ain‘t broke‘ applies. The design of the kit is similar, but a bit simplified. The same can be said for the decal options, that otherwise mimic the earlier kit. The decals are printed by us, and I think we‘ve gotten pretty good at it. The rivet work also hails from the 48th scale kit, and the reduction in rivets corresponds to the drop in scale. I did have my doubts about how this would translate on the finished product, but the end result is very satisfying and the riveting turned out very subtle and effective, and in its way, completes the model. I trust that the same conclusion will be drawn by our customers, and the new Spitfire will fulfil expectations. Other versions, including the Mk.VIII and XVI with both canopy variants, will follow through the second half of the year and continue on through next year, including a Royal Class boxing. So we will be releasing a Limited Edition kit, as well as an ‚Aussie Eight‘ and ‚The Boys are Back‘ release, the last two with an associated publication, with the second edition of ‚The Boys are Back‘ being expanded. Along with the Spitfire, we are releasing two older kits. The Lysander Mk.III in 1/48th scale is a re-issue of the kit released by Gavia some time ago, and for which we, along with other kits, purchased the rights to, and released the Lysander three times since. Each time, sales were quite brisk. This time, the kit is being released as a Profipack item, very similar to earlier releases. The Yak-3 being released as a Weekend kit is also a well known item, released countless times, and the only thing that can really be said about it is that it has held its own well. As mentioned, this is a Weekend edition kit with two marking options, both of which I think are well representative of the type. As is usual, the new kits come with the release of new accessory items related to them. In July, this is especially true of the 72nd scale Spitfire Mk.IX, for which we are simultaneously releasing two sets of photoetched details, seven Brassin sets, and one decal sheet of stencil data. There is a second such decal sheet being offered, the other covering the Bf 109G. For the Yak-3, there is also a photoet- ched set available, along with a mask (FE 399 and EX 238 respectively), and these should be noted to those interested. As far as other sets that I would consider noteworthy, the P-40 wheels (632080) and underwing bazooka tubes (632082) come to mind. The Brassin lineup also includes an interesting release for the Bf 109G in 1/48th, covering the drop tank mounting with two choices of tank. Turning to photoetched, note the five 1/35th scale sets led by two for the Su-76 from Tamiya, the set covering the side armor for the A-14 Ar- mata, a set for Meng‘s new Shilka and for the Chevrolet C-15A. These should all prove to be popular. In the aircraft category, you‘ll find a set for the MiG-31B/BS in 1/48th scale, and in its first released version, this subject proved to be the star of the spring season, and I would suspect that this item could become the star of the summer. We also have four sets for the new Trojan by Kittyhawk in 1/32nd. Today, I was able to have a look at a T-28 at Hamamatsu Air Base, and I found it difficult to believe that there could actually be four photoetched sets made for the type. We also have a set for the F4U-4 Corsair in 1/72nd released by Revell, and two for the USS Kitty Hawk for Trumpeter‘s 1/350 scale kit. There are also the promised six steel seatbelt sets released in the three main scales that, as you are probably already aware, we are calling ‚Steelbelts‘. At the moment, it is still not possible to evaluate the reaction to this line, although the first sales figures are very good, but time will make the final decision. In any case, whenever we have demonstrated these items at shows, they attracted a huge amount of attention. Don‘t forget to have a look at our BigEd and BigSin items as well, the latter of which is concentrated on the Bf 109G-6. This is the first BigSin on this theme, and the second will follow shortly. That‘s it for now, my Friends. If something is not clear, please ask. If you don‘t ask, you don‘t find out! Vladimir Sulc

Dear Friends,I am writing today‘s intro on a train on the way to Shizuoka, and I need to be quick about it, the final stop is about an hour from Tokyo.
