The test apparatus is carried out by filling the slump conewith freshly mixed concrete which is tamped with a steel

rod in three layers. The concrete is levelled off with the topof the slump cone, the cone removed, and the slump of thesample is immediately measured.

This test method is a variation of the simple slump test andsubjects the concrete to vibration after removal from theslump cone.The time taken for the concrete to be recompacted is takenas a measure of workability.The small vibrating table operates at a fixed amplitudeand frequency, and in the test a plastiisc is placed intocontact with the upper surface of the concrete. The apparatus is used for determining the workability offresh concrete, provided the maximum size of the aggregatedoes not exceed 38 mm. The test is particularly useful forconcrete mixes of very low workability where true slumpvalues are not reliable.

It consists of two rigid conical hoppers and a cylindermounted on a rigid metal frame. The lower openings ofthe hoppers are fitted with hinged trap-doors having quickrelease catches. A circular metal plate is provided to coverthe top of the cylinder.

This test will be of interest to those involved with concretehaving a high workability. The test determines the flow index

as an arithmetic mean of the diameter of the specimen afterworking on a flow table.

Concrete flow table

When fresh concrete is delivered to a site by atruck mixer it is sometimes necessary to check its consistence before pouring it into formwork.If the consistence is not correct, the concrete will nothave the desired qualities once it has set, particularly thedesired strength. If the concrete is too pasty, it may result incavities within the concrete which leads to corrosion of therebar, eventually leading to the formation of cracks whichwill accelerate the whole process, rather like insufficientconcrete cover. Cavities will also lower the stress theconcrete is able to support.

- The flowtable is wetted.- The upside down funnel is placed on the flowtable andfilled with fresh concrete.

- The funnel is lifted up, allowing the concrete to flow.- The flowtable is then lifted up several centimeters andthen dropped, causing the concrete flow a little bit further.- After this the diameter of the concrete is measured. Theresult is called "Ausbreitmaß" in German.

In many engineering problems such as design of foundation,retaining walls, slab bridges, pipes, sheet piling, the valueof the angle of internal friction and cohesion of the soilinvolved are required for the design. Internal fan for air circulation

All ovens are fan circulated models. The air flow speedsup the drying process and also evens the temperaturedistribution within the oven.The fan and heaters are in the rear of the oven, shieldedfrom the workspace by a stainless steel baffle.

Air is drawn into the fan from the centre of the oven andpasses over the temperature sensor and the sheathedheater elements. The heated air is distributed around thebaffle to both left and right and then re-circulated by thefan.

HIGH TEMP OVENS

The high temperature ovens are easy to use and getfunctional and practical equipments together, at veryreasonable prices compared with furnaces.They are suitable for a large number of applications :burning, degassing, pre-heating, hardening, hot airsterilization, tests ... in many branches of industry. All high temperature ovens are strongly ventilated forthe accuracy and homogeneity of temperature in thevolume.

Low thermal mass insulation materials and strong powerrating have been used to achieve rapid heating.

Performances

Temperature up to 500°C.Temperature fluctuation is less than ± 0,2 °C .Temperature spatial variation is less than ± 2,5°C at 200°C(measure done with 9 probes inside the work chamber).

Construction

5 sizes of ovens are available from 75 to 686 liters.The inner casing is made of corrosion and heating resistantstainless steel, type 321. The outer case is made of sheetsteel, finished in a tough stoved epoxy paint. (colour lightgrey RAL 7035) No contact between inner and outer caseand an optimised insulation minimise heat transfer tothe ambient air and heat dissipation. Walls and door areinsulated with glass fibre. The insulation is 150 mm thick,this ensures efficicent operation, low external temperaturesand excellent thermal stability. A special gasket providesa good seal between the door and the oven body, aidinginsulation. The insulation as well as the gasket are asbestos-free. The door is hinged on the right hand side and closedwith a robust 2 points fastener.

Internal fan for air circulation

All ovens are fan circulated. The air flow speeds up theheating time and also evens the temperature distributionwithin the oven. The centrifugal blower is located at the topof the oven, shielded from the workspace by a stainlesssteel baffle. Air is drawn into the fan from the top in thecentre of the oven and passes over the temperaturesensor and the sheathed heater elements. The heated airis distributed in the bottom of the oven through the wholewidth and then re-circulated by the fan.

Exhaust air, fresh air supply

Through access vent, fresh air is provided and pre-heatedbefore entering the chamber. A 40 or 60 mm diameterexhaust vent (depending on the model) is provided with anadjustable valve to control the exhaust air flow.

Temperature control and safety

Temperature sensor is a J thermocouple. Temperature iscontrolled by a precise microprocessor-based controller that

provides a high accuracy and prevents the set temperaturefrom being exceeded. The controller digitally displayscontinuously the set and actual values oftemperature. Anindependent second electronic controller, with a secondthermocouple, has an adjustable upper limit, giving a class2 protection.

Heating

The tubular heating elements are sheathed and made ofstainless steel. They are ideally placed in the air blow. No-wear switching (solid state relay) is used for activating and

deactivating the heating elements.

There are two kinds of test sieves we are produced. Oneis perforated plate sieves, and the other is woven wire test

sieves.The aperture size of perforated plate sieves is from 4mm to125mm. the woven wire sizes from 38μm to 850μm (1-4.75in mm). Two kinds of material we used, one is stainlessSteel, another is brass.
