Aer a number of months of very hard work, our School Captains, Vice Captains, House Captains, House Vice Captains and Student Representa)ve Council were able to join together for the first )me and be recognised for their leadership. Both the SRC and School Captains/Vice Captains will be travelling to Darwin for the ‘GRIP’ Excellence in Student Leadership conference in week 9, before joining other schools across the Katherine Region as an important part of the NT Learning Commission. Both as an Independent Public School and a Northern Territory School of Excellence, this is a wonderful opportunity for our students to lead important thinking across our region and I look forward to their ideas and applaud their commitment to ‘making learning be6er’. A thank you also to Mrs Sutherland and Constable Dani who joined our Year 5 and 6 classes this week to discuss online safety and give them some very important )ps about staying safe online. The ‘Think You Know’ program is beginning in schools across Katherine and CSIPS had the opportunity to be the first to work with the Police and Educa)on departments in making sure our students are being ‘Cyber-Safe’. A reminder that both our School Swimming Program and School Photo Day are fast approaching with further informa)on available from our administra)on team. Thank you for joining us to celebrate our wonderful Student leadership Team here at CSIPS as part of

2016 Leadership Assembly on Friday 26th February.

A�er a number of months of very hard work, our School Captains, Vice Captains, House Captains, House

Vice Captains and Student Representa)ve Council were able to join together for the first )me and be

recognised for their leadership. Both the SRC and School Captains/Vice Captains will be travelling to

Footy Friday

Students from our school a6ended a skills

and drill session at Katherine South last

Friday. We joined all other Katherine

schools in an a�ernoon of fun and skills

rota)ons. Our students did both the

jersey and themselves proud as everyone

displayed our school values. We also

welcomed students from Kintore school

who joined in with all their skills. They

had a great )me mixing it with the other

schools, and if their smiles are anything to

go by, they will be back soon.

Back to School Vouchers

Please be reminded that the Back to School Vouchers need to be used up by the end of Term 1 at

which )me, any unclaimed amounts will be forfeited.

If your child is par)cipated in the upcoming swimming program and you have not made payment,

consider using the back to school voucher to offset the cost.

For any ques)ons about the back to school voucher or amounts owing on swimming, please contact

the front office on 08 8973 3800.

Netball

We are looking for players for or under 11 Casuarina St Netball team. Boys and girls

are welcome!

Training will commence next Tuesday (8/3/16) a�er school from 3pm to 4pm at the

basketball courts at school.

Anyone interested in playing please contact Mrs Honey at school to collect sign up forms.

If there are any parents available to help please contact Samantha on 0408652370. The coaches are

Samantha Honey and Racheal Mundy.

Please be aware that this comp is separate from the school sports program and compe))ons will take

place in term 2, on Thursday nights.
