Good aernoon Parents and Caregivers,
Thank you for joining us to celebrate our wonderful Student leadership Team here at CSIPS as part of
2016 Leadership Assembly on Friday 26th February.
Aer a number of months of very hard work, our School Captains, Vice Captains, House Captains, House
Vice Captains and Student Representa)ve Council were able to join together for the first )me and be
recognised for their leadership. Both the SRC and School Captains/Vice Captains will be travelling to
Darwin for the ‘GRIP’ Excellence in Student Leadership conference in week 9, before joining other
schools across the Katherine Region as an important part of the NT Learning Commission.
Both as an Independent Public School and a Northern Territory School of Excellence, this is a wonderful
opportunity for our students to lead important thinking across our region and I look forward to their
ideas and applaud their commitment to ‘making learning be6er’.
A thank you also to Mrs Sutherland and Constable Dani who joined our Year 5 and 6 classes this week to
discuss online safety and give them some very important )ps about staying safe online. The ‘Think You
Know’ program is beginning in schools across Katherine and CSIPS had the opportunity to be the first to
work with the Police and Educa)on departments in making sure our students are being ‘Cyber-Safe’.
A reminder that both our School Swimming Program and School Photo Day are fast approaching with
further informa)on available from our administra)on team.
Thank you for your ongoing support,
John Cleary

welcomed students from Kintore school
who joined in with all their skills. They
had a great )me mixing it with the other
schools, and if their smiles are anything to
go by, they will be back soon.
