PSSA selection means a commitment to represent the school in one of the abovementioned sports for Terms 1 and 4 this year. Matches are played outside the school at various locations in the district. Fees to cover bus fares to and from venues and a school affiliation fee are payable. The local PSSA will continue to hold PSSA sport in the morning session for Terms 1 and 4. In line with this, Friday school sport will also be held on a Friday morning. Students not participating in PSSA will be allocated to school sport and club groups for Term 1. Student Safety The early stages of the new school year are an opportune time to remind everyone of safety around the school. Please respect the fact that, primarily, the car park is a staff car park. Accordingly, parents are asked not to park in the school car park between the hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm. The Kiss and Drop zone operates of a morning and afternoon. This zone is supervised each afternoon by members of the executive team. Parents are asked to collect a number from the front office and to display it in the driver’s side window of an afternoon so that your child can move to the designated pick up zone. Students are not to walk through the carparks, even with parent supervision, at any time. Of an afternoon, Kiss and Drop commences when the gate to the carpark is fully opened at 3.05pm. Please do not attempt to enter the car park prior to this time. Any students not collected after 3.00pm will be brought initially, to the Kiss and Drop area. Once this duty finishes, remaining students will be supervised in the front office. Please reinforce safety messages when your child is walking to and from school. Simple reminders such as walking in groups where possible, using pedestrian crossings appropriately and not talking to strangers should be emphasised. Please do not have your child’s name written on the outside of his / her school bag, where it could potentially be read and used by someone that your child does not know. Use other identifiers such as coloured ribbon so that your child can recognise his / her bag. Notes Home: Year 3 Student and parent technology agreement

Hello everyone

Welcome back to the new school year! I hope all your children have settled into their new classes and we welcome all our new families and 2020 Kindy families to our school as well.

I want to thank Erica and all the volunteers who helped to hand out Tears and Cheers welcome packs on Monday to our new parents. Thank you to Yolanda and her three children who worked hard to create them for us (and have done for a number of years). Also thank you to Kylee, one of our canteen managers for putting the Kindy parent morning tea together as well. We hope all the new families enjoyed their mornings and thank you to everyone who helped to welcome them in.

We hold P&C meetings at 7.00pm every second Wednesday of the month during school term. They are held in the school staff room (accessed through the school office) and anyone is welcome to come along. It is a great way to find out what is happening with our school, meet the Principal and school exec plus meet other parents and have a say about what projects we work on.

We are not a fundraising school so our voluntary parent contribution asked for is used by P&C for projects to benefit our students. So we use the meetings to decide what money should be spent on based on feedback from the school and what is sent in by parents.

Our next meeting is next week on Wednesday 12th February at 7.00pm. If you would like to be added to the minutes mailing lists please email me at [email protected]

Our AGM will also be coming up on the 11th March 2020. All P&C exec positions will be declared open so if you feel like you would like to have a role on the P&C and can commit to the extra time required during the year, you are very welcome to nominate. We run a number of events during the year, we are responsible for both the school canteen and the uniform shop and there is some behind the scenes work so P&C exec support is required throughout the year to help make everything run smoothly.

It is a lot of fun too and meetings are relaxed so if you would like to join us, we would love to have you come along even if it is just to attend without holding a role. I look forward to welcoming back our current members and any new faces who may come along next week.

Katherine Mullen P&C President
