Maintaining the preferred width for the logo ensures that it will be legible and will balance with other elements. Logo positions and sizes are preset in the templates available for download described on pages 10-13.

Whenever possible, surround the logo with ample clear space from other elements. The preferred amount of surrounding space is 3/8 inch when the logo or logotype is 2.25 inches wide.

2 using the logo

File Formats

A complete set of file formats has been supplied for use in materials and can be downloaded from either the Strategic Communications team site on Casey Connection for staff, or at www.aecf.org/style for consultants and vendors. Each file is suited to a specific application. Vector-based EPS files may be resized without quality deterioration. Raster files (JPG, PNG, TIF and GIF) may only be used at their original size or smaller.

Which logo files to use

Vector-based EPS Use with layout software programs for designers, professionally printed materials Illustrator/ Photoshop and other instances where a high-resolution logo is requested.

Raster files Use for: JPG, PNG, TIF, GIF Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Websites Online materials

How to download logo files onto your computer

Step 1 Visit either the Strategic Communications team site on Casey Connection for staff, or www.aecf.org/style for consultants and vendors

Step 2 Click on the link entitled “Casey Logos”

Step 3 Choose the appropriate logo based on the usage (see above)

Step 4 Click on the chosen logo file and select the computer folder where you would like the file to be saved (we recommend you create a subfolder entitled Casey Logos in your My Pictures folder)

Step 5 Click Save and the logo will download automatically

How to import logo files into Microsoft Word

Step 1: On the Insert menu, click Picture

Step 2: Click From File on the Picture submenu. Locate the logo file on your hard disk, server, website or other location, and insert it directly from there. (Note that by default, Word looks in the My Pictures folder.)

Step 3: Move the logo to the desired location

Step 4: Scale logo to the desired size under Format/Picture

How to import logo files into PowerPoint

Step 1: Place the cursor at the position in your document where you want to insert the picture

Step 2: On the Insert menu, click Picture, and then click From File. This will open the Insert Picture dialog box

Step 3: In the Insert Picture dialog box, locate and select the graphics file you want to import

Step 4: Click the Insert button

Step 5: Move the image by click/drag. Resize the image by clicking on a corner and dragging
