VFR Flight SimulatorTraining in the Whirly Bird Helicopter Simulator is like training in a living virtual world. Thousands of VFR visual cues including both man made and geological landmarks, helipad markings, oil rigs, buildings, water towers, highways, roads, railroad tracks, radio towers, power lines, wildlife, birds, lakes, oceans, clouds, rain, snow, fog, day to night transition, animated objects like factory and refinery smoke, cars and even other aircraft are just some of the visual cues you will encounter while training in the Whirly Bird Helicopter Simulator.
Airport Data Base
In addition to all of the visual cues, the Whirly Bird Helicopter Simulator also includes a world wide data base of over 24,000 airports, making local flight training possible in all corners of the world.

PilotagePilotage is a form of navigation by visual reference to landmarks. The Whirly Bird Helicopter Simulator allows for pilots to practice their Pilotage skills because of it's highly detailed recreation of the earth's surface. For example this invaluable feature allows student pilots the ability to create their flight plan and rehearse their flight alone, before they go on their first solo cross country flight; utilizing the same landmarks they will use during their actual flight. This in turn better prepares the student pilot for their mission.

Whirly Bird Simulator Fully Interactive Instructor Station
Records both horizontal and vertical track of aircraft for later playback and review Allows for disabling any of the instruments prior to or during a training session Simulates both partial or total instrument and or aircraft systems failures without stopping or freezing the simulation Instructor is able to manipulate the aircraft geographic location, aircraft heading, aircraft airspeed, aircraft altitude, and
the wind direction, turbulence and weather Moving map allows instructor to monitor flight as ATC and provide vectors during training session Uses a 24,000 airport data base for training in any part of the world based on procedures as published in 14 CFR part 97 Utilizes a dual monitor networked computer system with wireless keyboard and mouse Instructor can view aircraft instrument panels to observe power settings, reading of instruments etc, Com, Nav, and
transponder frequencies and settings... Instructor can conduct both VFR and IFR training sessions
