 Carl Hayden Visitor Center Page, AR From source to citizen— water in the southwest Perched above the Glen Canyon Dam, the Carl Hayden Visitor Center is a popular stop for visitors to Lake Powell and the canyon country. The center orients tourists to all the national parks and monuments in the region and interprets its natural and cultural history. The National Park Service (NPS) and the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) operate the center. AldrichPears worked with the NPS, BOR and stakeholders to develop new exhibits for the busy interpretive center. Our firm’s design approach weaves together the geological and hydrological features of the region with the ways in which humans and wildlife interact with the Colorado River. The approach makes the most of the center’s powerful views of Lake Powell to connect visitors with the story. APA completed a conceptual plan and the schematic design of new exhibits. Our firm is currently working on the center’ s detailed design.

    APA is working with the NPS, BOR and their stakeholders to develop new exhibits for the popular interpretive center. Our design approach weaves together the geological and hydrological features of the region, with the changing ways in which humans and wildlife interact with the Colorado River, and makes the most of the centers spectacular views over Lake Powell.

    APA has completed a conceptual plan and a schematic design for the new exhibits and is now working on detailed design of the space.
