The process of compiling statistics and indicators

in the CARICOM Programme is to obtain sex-

disaggregated information for policy formulation,

decision-making and monitoring and assessing of

social development.

emanating from a series of international

conferences stimulated the production of statistics

and indicators similar to these which are to be

compiled.

Fourth World Conference in 1995, National

Was first proposed at the Second Meeting of the

CARICOM Advisory Group in Social Gender and

Environment Statistics in Dominica (2001) and was

refined at the Third Meeting in Grenada (2002)

The list of statistics has been divided into two groups.

The first set (Group 1) - those which it is considered

must be collected.

Group 2 - while these are important they are thought to

be more supporting information of the Group 1

indicators (based on time and effort they constitute

Group 2)
