CABIN FEVER? Come take a tour of our Adult Day
Services program! Our New Year’s Eve Party was LOUD with noisemakers and popping
balloons! Let’s raise a toast to 2016!
Leap Year brings us an extra day, and we will surely need it! We got your groundhogs, your year of the Monkey, your Valentines, your Mardi Gras beads, your presidents in history and your Super Bowl! The grand finale will be “A Day at the Waldorf” imagination vacation to 1940s NYC! View the activity calendar for these special events.
We got the Punxsutawney Phil’s, the furry, the “fit as a fiddle,” the floats, the Millard Fillmore’s, the football! (Go Panthers!?) and tripping the light fantastic. (Watch for walnuts in the salad!)...So for our February flights of fancy, the month may still be short on days, but is guaranteed to be long on fun.

Natalie Stephenson, our Lead Program Guide, wrote, “Evan loves music! He has a whole bag full of CDs. He listens to all kinds of music and his favorites are Stevie Wonder and The Bee Gees. He always makes sure we have good music to listen to during the day.
Evan enjoys doing chores and helping out around the center. He makes sure that all our trash cans are empty and in good shape. He makes schedules for the day and makes sure we are where we are supposed to be.
Evan may be soft spoken but he has a huge heart and lots of love for everyone here. He has a contagious smile...and a unique sense of humor!”

Lunching at the Chinese restaurant!2016 is the Year of the Monkey: Smart and clever, the monkey probably knows how to use chopsticks! We
stuck with forks.
The Chinese Buffet brings a new year of happiness
Creative Commentary ... by our Participants
The tour guide asked, “What do you wish for me in 2016?” She heard the following responses:Prince Charming. But don’t kiss a frog. You’ll get a fever blister….Nunzi.Don’t be sick on New Year’s Eve. Happiness keeps you well….Imogene.A singing career….Granny. (Areta)Chopsticks. If you can’t eat with them, they are good for drumming….Jimmy.Discover your hidden talents. Like me. When I blow my nose, my ears whistle….Dana, (and she demonstrates).More whipped cream for that pie in your face!....Richard.Plenty of money! (Can I have another donut?)....Granny.
We also stopped afterward at Looking Glass Falls. The windows fogged up, so Nunzi, Granny and Dana drew pictures on the van windows. Because of all the rain, the falls were fat!Scary fast….Pat.Don’t go over it in a barrel...Richard.Beautiful...Ed.No comment. Been here before….Aubrey.Lord no! I can’t swim!....Sistah (Lillian). That’s a lot of water!....Imogene.My daughter from Florida would be taking pictures...Granny.and someone’s mom had told them: “Don’t dare go into the water til you learn to swim!”
Merry Christmas! You’ve just gotta smile when everyone’s wearing a Santa
Hat!
