I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, Chelsea Mitchell, as the incoming President of Cardiff University Law Society. Our society is consistently the largest, most active society and wins awards year on year for its activities and engagement with students. The committee that has been elected this year have dedicadedicated themselves to the Law Society, to ensure that our members have the best experience at university, but also come out as employable students!

This booklet comprises information of many of the activities we provide over the year and how you can get involved. We very much value our sponsors and as part of a package, we would be willing to host anything that would be of benefit to you, whether that's a societal trip to the office, or publicising upcoming deadlines through our emails to students. We have an active social media presence and a strong link with our careers service, and therefore you can be assucan be assured that your firm will be well publicised around campus.

As a society we seek sponsorship to help fund our activities as to minimise costs to our members.

Cardiff university Law Society is the centre of Cardiff Law Schools SocialActivities and has a staunch following amongst law students at the University. It currently enjoys a membership of over 600 students and staff, making it the largest society at Cardiff University.

The social aims to enhance the social, education and extra-cirricular opportunities for its student members. It acts to organise many socialand education events thand education events throughout the year on a regular basis - mostnoteably the commercial awareness award and the annual spring law Ball.

Through being a member of Cardiff University Law Society, you can getinvolved with Pro Bono, the innocence project and mooting in order tosprinboard yourself to potential career opportunities.

At Cardiff University Law Society, the executive committees purpose isto simply put futures first. Through offering CV Gold-Dust opportunities and oand organising unique events that give an insight into the world of Law and non-law career routes.

Cardiff University Law SocietyA BRIEF INSIGHT

Our annual Law Society journal is a collection of our students finest work. Students opt to write for the journal, and can write up to 5000 words on any subject of their choosing. We feel this allows passionate students to showcase the skills that come with essay writing, such as research, attention to detail, and general articulation. The journal is published in hardbound covers and all students writing for it, or in for it, or interested in it, are able to read a copy. There are also numerous additions held in the library, meaning they are attainable by all students.

As a sponsor we would print your logo on the front cover of the journal, and would allow for an insert within the journal with information regarding your firm. We would use your name whenever we are discussing and publicising the journal. In addition, we would be in interest if one of your members of staff would be able to offer tips on how to create such writings and would pass this help on, either through a document, or a skills session where interested students attend.

The Annual Spring Law BallOur annual law ball, held in March, is the most popular event on campus. Hosted in the beautiful Cardiff City Hall, our students are treated to a champagne reception followed by a three-course meal. The black tie event is a different theme each year, with the most recent themes being A Night at the Oscars and Great Gatsby. Over 320 tickets to the ball sell out within 20 minu20 minutes demonstrating the impressiveness of the event. Our Facebook page saw over 17,000 views on our album of ballphotos taken by a professional photographer and therefore shows how great exposure for a sponsor could be.

As a sponsor, we would love for your brand to be on all major materials, including posters, invitations, all social media posts and on the photograph album. We would be open and willing tto extend this to any other materials that have been popular at other societies, however we are confident in the sheer extent that this sponsorship would offer your firm.

Cardiff University law Society membership cardsOur membership cards are handed to all members on their joining of our society. The cards have previously been hard plastic and therefore are elegant and durable. The membership cards are important to our students because they are used when attending events and when redeeming discounts adiscounts around the local Cardiff area (which we have arranged).

As a sponsor your logo would be prevalent on the card and would therefore be seen regularly by all of our students.

Public Speaking SeriesOur public speaking series is a collection highly popular skill development sessions, where students attend presentations from professionals on how they've used public speaking in their careers and how they learnt to improve it, and any top tips they may have. The talk is followed by an opportunity to improve and demonstrate their skills through various workshops. One example of a particularly popular workshop was 'dpopular workshop was 'dragon den' style, where students improvised the sale of a random item placed in front of them. Law school tutors have commented on the impressiveness of this event and have noted the significant increase in confidence amongst participating students. A networking social always follows the sessions, where food and drink is laid on for students enjoyment.

As a sponsor, we would like you to visit and run at least one workshop as pa as part of the event; we believe it is an opportunity for a trainee or member of staff to showcase the excellent experience they have had at your firm and how their experiences have shaped their skills and confidence. Much like our other sponsorship opportunities, your name would actively be promoted alongside the event, and be included in all social media and event posts.

It is used to view and book events, access photos, publish information and successes of the society, and includes a link to our newsletters and blog.

This sponsorship opportunity would see your companys logo on the home page on the websihome page on the website in full view of all visitors. There would also be a separate page, easily accessible, with a company bio and easy links to websites; the content of this would be completely up to you and could include deadlines and any upcoming events.

Additionally, we are also offering sponsorship to have your firms logodisplayed on both our facebook page and twitter page which has over 1,000 individual followers and 2,000 likes respectively. As Part of the sponsorship, your logo would be printed on our banner so all our members and followers are able to see it on a regular basis when visiting our page.

Cardiff University Law Society Clothing

Our clothing is popular amongst students and has seen over 100 sales year on year. The clothing available varies between each academic year, and therefore continues to sell well. This year we propose to offer hoodies, sweatshirts and polo shirts to all students, and believe the sweatshi students, and believe the sweatshirts and polo shirts will be particularly popular.

Sponsorship will see your logo in a prominent position on the clothing, most probably the back (although this is open to negotiation). The full branding will be viewable and will therefore be seen across the city, by society members and also non-members and other students. and other students.

commercial awareness award

The Commercial Awareness Award consists of a programme of practical and informative events that aim to develop the commercial awareness of members of the Law Society. Whilst various firms will run some of these events, we are looking for a sponsor to run frequent events throughout the academic year and to host a networking event for those members who achieve the award.

Annual Law Society TripOur Annual Trip is incredibly popular, however this year we are looking toincrease attendance through new organisation and fresh ideas. The Law Trip is usually organised in the early period of first term, and then occursduring late november/early decemeber. The Trip is regarded as one of the highlights for the entire year for our members.

Although members do pay for the trip individually, we are seeking sponsorship in osponsorship in order to subsidise the cost for our members and to branch out to locations further away from the United Kingdom. in light of this, our plan at the moment is to take our members to the capital of italy: ROME!

As a sponsor, your firms logo and name will appear on all social mediaposts. Additionally, our pupils will be representatives of your firm whileon the trip and will regularly take photos with a banner containingyour firmyour firms logo and name at landmarks across the location. This would bethen posted to our social media pages which recieve thousands of visitors every day.

Law society sports teamsOur Law Society sees three teams compete in IMG leagues; football, rugby and netball. Each team have their own personal successes, for instance the netball and football clubs boast two full teams and an even larger squads, whereas the rugby team were the 2013 champions, and unbeaten across the season.

As a sponsor, your logo would occupy the kit of the team, and would the therefore be seen by a vast number of the student population. There is always a large amount of publicity surrounding the teams, and as sponsors you would be publicized at all the same points.

law society weekly newsletterOur weekly newsletter is composed by our Secretary and contains all information relevant to our members, including upcoming events, opportunities and events gone by. The newsletter is automatically sent to our 600+ members and is printed and placed on our notice board. We will also publish it on social media platforms.

Sponsorship of our newsletter will mean your logo will be printed on the banner of each page. It will also include the oppothe banner of each page. It will also include the opportunity to add information as part of the newsletter, which we intend would include information about applications and open days. We would also hope that there could be hints and tips about applications, or a brief blog entry about graduate experiences within the firm. It would therefore be an exclusive way of conveying information to students.

Law society Freshers welcome PackOur welcome packs were introduced this academic year as an enticement and reward for joining our society and were handed to joiners at the Societies Fayre. We filled carrier bags, printed with our logo, with flyers and booklets from our sponsors, as well as freebies from sponsors and more local businesses. They were seen being used throughout the year and we are therefore pleased with their introduction.

WWe are seeking sponsors for the welcome packs, primarily through provision of materials and freebies to be placed in the packs. We would like to combine this with sponsorship of one of our other opportunities so that your companys brand is prevalent from the first day and then throughout the year.

Law Society Graduation Party

After a tough three-year degree, it is recognized by us and the Law School that peoples efforts should be recognized and appreciated. For the past few years we have thrown successful graduation parties, which have celebrated individual efforts of students. The evening has included awards, and also drinks and canaps.

As a sponsor you would be on the inviAs a sponsor you would be on the invites and the tickets, and included in all social media publications. There would be an opportunity for networking with graduates, and also for students from all years to see your name on photos and social media posts.

law society mentorship schemeOur mentorship scheme saw a revamp and increased success this year. Senior students volunteered themselves to be a mentor and are then organised into families which includes all first years. The student families meet each other and offer support when needed. We discovered this has developed transferable skills, and is valued by students as being an asset to their CV.

As sponsoAs sponsor, your name would be coupled with the title of the scheme and included on all emails, publications and social media posts. We would also be excited to organise a sponsors event for those students who volunteer as mentors, allowing your firm excellent access to some of the best students.

Unprecedented magazine and blog

Our termly magazine allows students to demonstrate their research and writing skills. Students are able to write an article on any subject they choose and will be published online and in a physical magazine which is available to all students. Our students can be proud of their work, and the extent of readership their articles attract.

As a sponsor of the magazine, your firm will occupy a space within the magazine. Depending on what would suit your firm, this could the magazine. Depending on what would suit your firm, this could simply be a logo, or could be your own article or information about the firm and applications. In the past we have had well read hints and tips from trainees, and micro-blogs about a Day in the life and we would be interested in publishing similar this year.
