Bute Park Education Centre Admin Assistant

General Description of Duties:

Working in a small Office, this placement will involve general administration, such as filing, answering phones, setting up the centre ready for use, organising equipment within the centre, data input and some simple internet researching.

The placement could include also working with volunteers, art and craft activity creation, trail creation.

Estate Management

General Description of Duties:

Working Cardiff Parks and possibly on special projects (depending on work programme at the time of placement). Autumn leaf clearance ground preparation, pruning works, and other winter maintenance of park and gardens. Litter collection and management, land clearance, reclamation of various areas of Cardiff Park land.

This placement would be suitable to people with an interest in Horticulture, plants, working outside, wildlife, the environment.

Duties could include working outside in all weathers

Ornamental Horticulture

General Description of Duties:

Working in the Ornamental Cardiff Parks, such as Bute Park, Roath Park, Victoria Park. Involved with winter maintenance works, planting bulbs, seasonal bedding and rose pruning (depending on season), ground preparation, pruning works, and other winter maintenance of parks and gardens.

This placement would be suitable to people with an interest in Horticulture, plants, working outside, wildlife, the environment. Duties could include working outside in all weathers.
