Key2GO

With the evolution of OEM immobilizer technology aftermarket integration companies are forced to find ways to bypass higher levels of encryption found in newer vehicles. Historically, aftermarket manufacturers of data integration (override) modules have always been able to generate a “secret key” using the microprocessor on board the interface module in order to replicate a key. The challenge with more modern vehicles and advanced encryption layers is that the traditional method is not possible, due to performance limitation on the CPU (speed and processing power). Therefore, in order to continue offering override solutions we had to get creative and develop a new way.

Key2GO has been designed and developed to solve this issue. It uses an array of servers to generate a duplicate of the original key, enabling the installation of a remote starter without having to give up a key.

It is also very easy to use! The installer starts the process by connecting the module to XpressVIP 4.5 and flashing it with the Key2GO-compatible firmware (visit www.xpresskit.com to download the application). The unit is then installed in the vehicle and used to capture a sample set of data that will be the information on which the Key2GO server relies for the next step. Once the sample data has been acquired by the interface module, the installer now plugs it back into the PC (via XpressVIP 4.5) and completes the flashing process. When the process is completed, the module is ready to go and can be installed in the vehicle permanently.

The advantage of this feature is that for vehicles where Key2GO is required, the customer does not have to give up a key and it is much safer than having a key in the box under the dash. The disadvantage is that it does take a little more time to get the module programmed (when required); however, we have only made Key2GO a requirement when absolutely necessary. Consequently, for vehicles where a secret key can be generated at the module level without Key2GO, we simply do not require it. This allows you to save time, and time is money. Why force you to use Key2GO if you don't have to, right?

All Key2GO-compatible firmware are clearly indicated in the function list of each vehicle search result page and will also appear on the flash page. Any first-time user must re-register to gain access to Key2GO, and some additional information will be required to complete the registration process, such as your Directed account number and store name.

Key2GO is compatible with XpressVIP 4.5 or higher and requires an XKLoader2.

Well the fact of the matter is that some vehicles require two original keys to learn an program and interface module which is a key step in completing the installation of a remote start. Customers often only have a single key with them when they go shopping for a remote starter, this frequently resulted in the customer leaving to find a second original key and simply never coming back, therefore being a lost opportunity for your business to make money.

This feature allows you to use one original key and the server as a proxy for the second key can be used to configure the bypass in the vehicle. 1KEY prevents the hassle of having to ask the customer for two keys. It also keeps this value customer in the store and focused on the product.
