CAPABILITY ENHANCEMENT SCHEMES
As a pioneering institution in education, the institution continues to be service oriented by empowering
the students for their future: academic research and employment through various co-curricular programs .
Among the co-curricular programs, the thrust for equipping them for with employability skills and
making them industry ready is a huge component. Consequently, some of the programs are under broad
categories such as counselling, placement help and skill development courses.
Placement cell organises a number of workshops on Career counselling, guidance on choosing the
career, employment opportunities available, academic counselling as to available research programs is offered.
Workshops and training programs help the students in personal and social counselling, skill
development and technical know-how. A number of departments conduct remedial classes to help the students.
Additionally, the English department and the equal opportunities cell play a vital role in offering
placement preparatory programs, remedial classes, Bridge courses and other ELT based courses to groom the
students for competitive exams, research and employment.
1. Guidance for competitive examinations English Department, Nizam College offers a self-financed course for NET and SET examinations
for the students in 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2017-18. It conducted special classes for MA English Entrance examinations.
2. Career Counselling 2013-14:
Placement Cell, Nizam college in co-ordination with Mathematics Department conducted Group discussion and Vedic Mathematics classes for UG students.
Placement Cell Nizam college conducted classes for all UG/PG students for computer Adaptive tests.
Placement Cell, Nizam College, conducted a seminar on “Career Scope after Graduation”
This College was registered with JKC in 2013-14 to offer training to bridge the skill deficit of students and to enable them seize employment opportunities in job market.
2014-15: Placement Cell Nizam college conducted classes for all UG/PG students for computer Adaptive tests.
Placement Cell Nizam college organized a workshop on Interview Skills and Vedic Mathematics
This College renewed the registration with JKC in 2014-15to offer training to bridge the skill deficit of students and to enable them seize employment opportunities in job market.

2016-17:
Placement Cell, Nizam College in collaboration with Directorate of Placement Services, Osmania University, Hyderabad conducted a half day workshop on “Resume Writing”
Placement Cell in collaboration of ITM Group of Institutions conducted a seminar on “Value Proposition for students and faculties”
This College renewed the registration with TASK in 2016-17 to offer training to bridge the skill deficit of students and to enable them seize employment opportunities in job market.
Placement Cell, Nizam College and OYESTER jointly organized seminar on “Skill Development & Career guidance”
2017-18: Women Empowerment Cell & Placement Cell, Nizam College conducted International women’s week and as a part of that program G. Nirmalamma, Deputy Director, Treasuries and Accounts, Government of Andhra Pradesh addressed the guided them for career.

3. Soft skill development 2013-14:

The Department of English in association with Placement Cell conducted a two week intensive basic training course for Placement preparation for undergraduate final year students.

4. Remedial coaching
Most of the departments in the college conduct remedial classes for the benefit of the students.

6. Bridge courses 2013-14: English Language and Training Centre, Nizam College conducted a certificate course in English for Academic purposes

7. Yoga and Meditation
Nizam College conducts several workshops and programs on Yoga and Meditation
8. Personal Counselling
Department of Psychology, Nizam college helps the students who require counselling.
