What TUW is: a community problem solver, working to strengthen the Lowcountry by focusing on the build-ing blocks of a good life - education, financial stability and health. TUW brings together people, busi-nesses, government, and nonprofit organizations to take on the most pressing issues in our community.

What TUW does to build a stronger community:• Creating initiatives and utilizing data-driven strategies to achieve measurable community change.• Fostering collaborations that streamline resources. • Investing in programs that get real results, helping people who need it most.• Here are three examples of how TUW is creating BOLD COMMUNITY CHANGE:

How TUW works: TUW works to make real, long-lasting change through collective impact, a systematic ap-proach in which many partners agree in advance on how they will approach the issue at hand and how they will determine success. These collaborations require a backbone organization to manage the partnership and ensure communication among the partners. TUW often plays that backbone role.

CAMPAIGN PROCESSINGTIPS AND TRICKS

THE PLEDGE FORMSReview and finish pledge forms to make sure TUW can process them according to your employees’ wishes. • Review to ensure the basics are included: the employee name, how they are giving, how they are help-

ing, and a signature. • Fill in the annual amount and employee I.D. for TUW. The employee I.D. can be used either for your

internal I.D. or for the TUW donor I.D. Ask your Relationship Manager for a list to help here. • If employee selected an agency(ies) to designate to, review to make sure all requested information is

provided, including Name, Tax ID and Address. Not including all information can cause delays in providing funds to the agencies. A list of approved 501(c)(3) organizations can be found through the IRS Select Check tool at: http://apps.irs.gov/app/eos/.

THE PLEDGE ENVELOPE Complete the envelope with the following at a minimum to prevent delays in processing: • Company name • Section B• Designations • All contributions total• Your name • Signature Add other information as necessary including:• Section A• Other transaction information for special transactions including Cornerstone, Benefactor, etc.

PAYMENTS ON PLEDGES Communicate with your finance or payroll department to make sure payments include:• Your company’s TUW Account # • Company Name • Campaign Year 2016 e.g. #968 Best Company 2016• Ask your Relationship Manager for the company TUW Account # if unknown

A helpful new option: Make your processing experience easier by using our template spreadsheet!

While spreadsheets are not new, we now have the ability to upload pledge and payment details from a template into our system. This can greatly reduce your time and errors

that can occur in data entry and allows us to apply payments against specific employees. Let your Relationship Manager know if you’d like more information on this option.

On behalf of the TUW Finance Team, thank you for all of your help in running the Trident United Way 2016 Campaign!
