All camp personnel, both paid and volunteer, are required to submit clearances per Pennsylvania state regulations.

CENTER DIRECTOR: Each of the camp retreat centers is led by a Center Director who is present throughout the entire camp and retreat season to enhance missional outcomes, steward these sacred places, and extend Christian hospitality to all.

SUMMER STAFF: These young adults live on site all summer and work throughout the summer camping season to ensure a fun, safe, and clean physical environment. They serve as lifeguards, supervise the challenge course/climbing wall, staff the nature resource programs, lead craft programs, and perform many other vital duties. They work under the supervision of the Center Director.

DEANS: These adults, including both clergy and lay people, provide leadership and supervision for a camp event. With guidance from the Center Director, deans recruit, train, and supervise the counselors for their session of camp, as well as plan and lead the worship experiences.

COUNSELORS: These are adults, 18 years of age or older, who are responsible for the direct supervision of the campers. Assistant counselors, ages 16 and 17, assist with the elementary camps, but do not have supervisory responsibilities.

All staff and volunteers responsible for overnight supervision of campers are 18 years old or older, and at least five years older than the oldest youth under their supervision.

In an effort to keep our campers, staff, and volunteers safe, we will be implementing COVID-19 practices and procedures for this summer season. We will be following state and expert guidelines. Listed below are some highlights of these practices. A full list, complete with additional details and updated as needed, is available to view at susumcamps.org/CRM-COVID19.

How Will Camp Be The Same?• Many things remain the same! We will….have campfire worship, hike, swim, create, play, and make lasting memories with camp friends. We remain

committed to providing an outdoor experience of sacred common ground where all are invited to grow in the love of Christ.

Before Coming To Camp• We ask that all campers, volunteers, and staff complete a 14 Day Pre Camp Health Practice Form prior to their week of camp. These practices are listed in a

form that is available on our website and includes items like limiting non-essential travel and exposure to folks outside of your household, as well as following state social distancing and masking guidelines.

Safety Practices At Camp• Campers, with their counselors, will move throughout camp in small cohort groups or pods that we are calling Family Groups. These small groups will help

limit possible COVID-19 transmission and exposure as well as assist with contact tracing if needed.

• Everyone at camp will wear masks at all times when indoors (aside from sleeping) and when 6ft of distance is not possible outdoors.

• We will be practicing CDC hygiene and cleanliness guidelines including increased hand washing/sanitizing and daily sanitizing of indoor spaces.

Outside Is Best!• Weather permitting all camp programs, meals, and activities will take place outside. When large gatherings happen (like worship) Family Groups will remain

in their designated zone which will be 6ft away from all other Family Groups.

• When having to be inside due to weather, only an individual Family Group will be permitted to occupy any indoor space. Multiple Family Groups will not gather together inside

One of the core values of Susquehanna Camp and Retreat Ministry focuses on the spiritual, emotional, and physical safety and care of our camp community members. W

ith this value in mind, we are asking families to enter into a covenant with us for this summer. This agreement is your participation in providing the safest space possible for campers as they come to know the love of Jesus. Parents/guardians, we ask that you complete this covenant with your camper, so that they can be part of this community of care. Those families that choose not to follow the summer camp Policies and Procedures should wait until in 2022, or when we are beyond COVID-19 restrictions, to attend summer camp.

Please mark each circle as a sign of understanding and com

mitm

ent:O

As a family, we agree and covenant to complete the 14 Day Pre-Camp Health Form prior to attending camp, which we understand will ask us to practice safe social procedures when we are interacting with anyone outside of our household.

O As a family, we agree and covenant to check the CDC list of high-risk health factors found on the CDC website. Should our camper fall into any of the “increased risk” categories laid out by the CDC, we agree to consult with a physician regarding summer camp attendance. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/need-extra-precautions/people-with-medical-conditions.html

O As a family, we agree and covenant to positively prepare our camper for their week(s) of camp by seeing that they understand and commit to follow the special Procedures and Protocols this summer listed at http://susumcamps.org/crm-covid19 prior to their arrival.

O As a family, we agree and covenant to disclose if anyone in our household has been in contact with a COVID-19 positive individual within two weeks of the start of our registered camp event.

O As a family, we agree and covenant to stay up to date with Camp and Retreat ministries COVID-19 Procedures and Protocols as we prepare for camp. These can be found at http://susumcamps.org/crm-covid19.

O As a family, when we register for summer camp, we are agreeing to follow these health Procedures and Protocols for the week(s) of camp the camper is attending.

Situated on over 950 acres of Tuscarora Mountain in the western foothills of the Catskill Mountians, Sky Lake has been helping to transform the lives of campers and retreat guests since 1947.

Sky Lake operates under New York State guidelines which are being finalized for summer

camping options for the 2021 season.

A Fresh Breath In A New Day: Retreat For Pastoral Leaders On this day, we will take time apart from the daily routine and step into the spaciousness of the outdoors as we revisit our walk with God in this new season. As leaders, we are often called to greater creativity, innovation, and flexibility as we seek God’s calling for the church; and with that can bring frustration and a sense of weariness. We invite you to come, breathe in hope and refresh your spirit, and perhaps leave with a new perspective and spark of creativity for your journey. Leader: Beth Jones, Deep Green Journey. Participants, we ask you to bring your own chair and lunch. We will be outside for the entire day, so please dress accordingly. May 12 Pastoral Leaders $20 no early bird
