Day 4-6 Alcala La Real -Castro del Rio 27km days (17

miles)

A series of longer days in distancebut not in difficulty as we continuethru olive groves.

A very peaceful section passing: alarge lagoon home to many uniquebird species, some ancientmonasteries and more hilltopfortresses. The days are so serene,one needs to be prepared withenough food and water to last theentire stage.

Days 1-3 Granada - Alcala La Real24 km days (15 miles)

Arrival at Granada train station andtransfer to your lodging. Take the time todiscover the Alhambra, an Islamicfortress from 889 and a UNESCO WorldHeritage Site.

These first days of walking offer stunningviews of the regions mountains & valleys,sparse with medieval fortresses.

Days 7-8 Castro del Rio, Córdoba36 km day (22 miles)

A long stretch for the final day to thelegendary town of Córdoba but on verylevel terrain. Córdoba is filled withbeautiful XIV th century architecture,roman ruins, arab baths, fortresses,flamenco...all in one vibrant city.

Depending on the time of your flighthome, you can either enjoy a full daythrough the streets of Córdoba or headstraight back to Madrid’s airport on thefinal day.
